Some sad news for Kiira fans :(

Kiira has updated her blog and announced she will be withdrawing from Trophee Eric Bompard next week. She says she's feeling better now but that her long break away from the ice weakened her skating condition. She's back on the ice training and preparing to compete at NRW Trophy in Dortmund on Dec.5-7. She also plans to compete at Finnish nationals.

You can read more here.

Valentina Marchei has withdrawn from TEB today.

It's too bad that Korpi and Marchei waited so long to withdraw. Those two spots will go unfilled, and there are plenty of eligible ladies who would have loved to have the opportunity to skate in the GP.

To bad for Korpi. This is a big year for the Finns, they have an opportunity to grab 3 spots for Worlds / Olympics this year. I also expect a very possible Top 5 Sweep at Euro's.

Hmmm... 2 Skaters out. Wonder if Czisny will get a phone call.....

No, Alissa CANNOT skate in TEB because there are already 3 US ladies at the event (Zhang, Liang, Hughes).

Damn. Forgot about that. Wouldn't be surprise if another lady from the deep JPN pool grabs a spot.

MMM all the top 4 ladies Mao, Miki, Yukari, Fumie already have 2 spots each. Nana has 2 spot too. I wonder any of the junior ladies will qualify for the spot??

Akiko Suzuki could get a spot, she has NHK so far, but I don't know if she can get one - could her Finlandia win get her a spot?

Huge mistake of JSF for not sending Akiko to 4CC last year. She would've racked up enough ranking points to merit two gp assignments in the first place. I think it's already too late to invite any replacement.

Suzuki didn't compete in any Senior ISU Championships or the GP last year, so she isn't on the ISU Seasons Best List for 2007-2008. All the GP substitutes must be chosen from that list.
