Reading the paper for Mom I came across these two articles of interest.

Kimmie made the local paper here today. A 54 x 24 pica article discussing her attendance at Nationals. Of course the article mentioned MK and Sasha - will a skating article even not mention those two, well at least MK? It also vaguely mentioned her being one of two US ladies ever to do the 3a (not making reference to competition) and worded it as being a "trick." Yes I know I maybe the only one who is adverse to that term, but regardless Kimmie had a spot in the paper - and it was in sports not entertainment.

Katy was in a insert periodical called the Parade ( I am sure some are familiar with it) and talked about her superstitions. She said she is "not really superstitious," but explained what the frog and butterfly were but no mention of the pink Hummer ("H") on her boots.

Seanni - Once a skater leaves the ice, he is no longer skating. He is doing a trick not unlike those old fashioned barrel jumpers. Nothing wrong with that but that's what it is.

:agree:
Maybe the men perform "tricks" but the ladies perform magic:yes:

J/K:laugh: it is just a stupid hang up of mine, nothing wrong with the term really. I prefer element or a jump, that in which it is. "Trick or Treat" or the magician performs a "trick" comes to mind. I understand it and make an acceptance to it. Much like not being centered on a spin is called "traveling" I just get a stupid hang up of something else in my mind when I hear them. But a word is a word.
