I really think this contest is a 'let's keep Ashley down'. She is not a ballet-like skater and most fans will not accept another style. Hacker is that ballet-like style. This is good experience for both of them.

That earlier link for ESPN is not working. Can someone give me another link. Apparently it's back in service.

It doesn't make any sense that a two-fall Cynthia was so close to Hacker/Wager.
I hate Cynthia.

I don't think it should be called a style but rather a requirement. I really feel like a female skater should have a "ballet-like" grace. It was so painful to watch Sarah Hughes skate, even during her OGM performance,, and I feel almost the same way about Ashley. Not that it's heretically wrong, but I just feel like something's missing when a skater skaters with subpar posture and muscles her way through the performance.....

Hate's kind of a strong word.
It's not all about the jumps. I think Cynthia had superior stroking to both of them. She has that "floating" quality to her skating. Her spins and spirals were also very good. The jumps that she did do were very well done. She also has tremendous presence on the ice.

Mira Leung:
Rachmaninoff piano concerto #2&3
3lz-2loop
3flip
3sal step out
shizuka spiral!
3toe
2axel-2toe-2loop
3flip-2loop
3lz
Good performance, good for her!
Why did Mira only do 6 triples? Take that 2axel out of a combination and add another 3toe in combination! Unless she's having trouble landing her toes now as well as her non-existent loops.
Anyways, sounds like she did well! :agree: And what's a Shizuka spiral?
