I just rewatched Yu Na Kim's LP NBC version. Not only did she lip, she underrotated the 3flip. Even the commentator who's extremely pro-Yu Na made the comment she barely made the rotation. I long suspected she's underroating her 3flip after watching the replay. She had ample rotations in the air, but the blade did not rotate fully when touching down on the ice.
Yu Na fell on a triple jump in SP at 2007 worlds. That triple was severely underrotated, but she's never got any underrotation calls. It's very unfair to other skaters.

She was perfect in SP. I think you might be referring to her LP where she did fall twice.
Apparently all these videos do nothing at all.
One sees one thing, and others see absolutely the opposite.

Yu-Na's Flip is nowhere near being underrotated. Look at where the toepick leaves the ice and where she lands. It is excellent rotation. Also, the commentator was saying that she barely made the FULL rotation, not that she barely made the 1/4 turn mark.

I'm assuming you meant the LP, but either way, that's hardly relevant to the gist of this discussion, because very few skaters were called on their underrotations at that point. This didn't start going after them until last season. When she did get at least one downgrade, on her lutz at Worlds. :sheesh:

I think it looks fully rotated enough, but she did not get the height she usually had, that's why she fell.

You need to check your facts. Yu-Na did not fall in the SP at 2007 Worlds. She was perfect and recorded the highest score ever in the Ladies SP. And I hope that Yu-Na will score even higher this season.
At 4:44, her right toe pick isn't even close to hitting the ice yet. When her right foot hits, she is absolutely lipping. Look more at 4:45 when her right foot has come in contact with the ice. Her left ankle is rolled way outward.
I'm not biased and couldn't care less who wins between Yu-Na and Mao, and that's what I see.
Is it safe to say that basically all of the ladies have trouble doing both a true flip and a true lutz? It seems that they all prefer one, and have trouble doing the other correctly because they are so used to their preferred edge.

Why don't we accept the fact that this is not black and white, and most of us care less and just want to enjoy the beautiful programs put together by these hard-working athletes?

YuNa's El Tango de Roxanne was exquisite (just re watched it on you-tube) she owned the ice that night. For YuNa to pull off that performance with her back injury was just incredible.

Why don't we accept the fact that this is not black and white, and most of us care less and just want to enjoy the beautiful programs put together by these hard-working athletes?
Then why some skaters with incorrect edge & underrotations were called, and some were NOT? I have no problem if the controller give a pass to all of them, not just the annointed one.

I don't think you will ever get this point. These edge calls are not black and white, just like a lot of things in life. I personally don't want to go crazy over something like this. I love skating and I have always been since young but this is not how I'm going to show my passion for skating. To some, this (debate of a particular skater's edge use) seems to have become an unhealthy obsession.

I agree. They are all doing it, so give them all a "!" or get rid of the edge-call rules all together.
I don't see "she is absolutely lipping". There is no ABSOLUTE thing here, because we are not precise machines. I see only flip. Don't focus on her ankle but on the blade! She has slightly bent ankle. I am not a expert and I am not a skater either. But, in that position of edge, is 3Lutz possible?
