Ladies SP

Yes I totally agree. However, I do have to say that she has a good chance of beating Alissa, if she skates clean.

Another long wait for scores.

Rachael Flatt (Moon River, Piano Concerto No. 2)

3F+2T good call on her part, she lost a lot of speed on the 3F
Lots of speed going into the jumps
3Lz (possible e) slight 2-foot
CCoSp3
SlSt ok
LSp2 nicely done, though her back is not terribly flexible
2A nice, again she grazes her free foot on the landing
SpSq4, unsteady edge on the COE
FCSp4
Conservative, but nice skate for her. Probably won't surpass Alissa.

As Nancy said, that was clean but conservative program. I wonder whether she will place ahead Caroline or not. Alissa keeps the lead:clap:

Nancy would put her behind Caroline.

I remember when Bebe burst into seniors as a 12-year-old. She never lived up to that early hype. :frown: At least she to to go to Worlds last year.

I agree. She is a trooper; a true veteran.I know she has had great skates where she came close to pulling it all together, but I don't remember any truly spectacular skates.

Man, who would've thought Alissa would be 1st after the short? I so hope she does a great long.

Another long wait. Reviewing spins or footwork maybe? Jumps looked clean to me.

Yay Alissa!

I knew this event would be unpredictable, but I didn't even expect this. Wagner out of the top 10? Some unknown in the top 5?? Alyssa in first by a 5 pt margin after the SP???

Wow... Poor Ashley. I hope she fights back in the long. I really like her short this year, it's a shame.

Oh Caroline. You should be in second. These spin issues have happened before. Oh well, I can live with 3rd for now. I'm not sure she can beat Rachael in the long though...

Congrats Alissa! Sounds like an awesome skate, I really really hope she can hang on in the long. I'm much rather see her win than Rachael (sorry...) and I have faith in her for Worlds.

What an unexpected result! I have always enjoyed Alissa's skating and hoped for the day where she would skate clean all the way through, but I didn't expect her in first at Nationals after the SP! I hope she skates really, really well in the LP.

I hope Ashley moves up. It'd be horrible if she didn't make the national team.

Has Czisny EVER been the leader after the short? This will be very interesting. She usually seems to do well skating first. But the last thing she needs is the pressure of being the current leader.

In general, I don't think this is going to be a well-skated free program at all.

in the slow mo replay, it seemed Rachael flutzed on the take off

At Nebelhorn she was, and she ended up winning the event beating Akiko Suzuki. She's been delivering at every event since Liberty, so it's looking very good for her.

Too bad Sasha didn't decide to go for it this year. She might have done well...

Thanks for everybody who did PBPs.
