Ladies SP

Oh, I actually dislike Domnina / Shabalin - but I hope they get that gold tonight. If just to infuriate you all. As much as I am infuriated right now. The German Eurosport commentators are also fuming.

Rachel should never have beaten Fumie or Sarah. Not right at all.

Joannie: The expression level in this performance was FANTASTIC for her, definitely the best I've seen from her, and the first time I've really gotten into this particular program. Looked very confident and in control, yet loose. I wonder if she'd have tried 3-3, if she hadn't had to check the landing on the lutz?

I'd have this close to Miki's score, too close to call

WOW, great score -- bravo

I'm joining this late - is there another group after this? I saw Joannie skate but I'm not sure where we're at.

Did anyone else think that fumie under rotated her triple flip. She looked short to me..could explain the scores.

Potentially dumb question -- why don't these skaters just make all their programs 1 second shorter just in case?

Not to mention they already got 10 extra seconds when Michelle Kwan went slightly over time (and got totally slammed more than the "mandatory 0.1").

I blame the rules for step sequence levels. Allowing retrogression makes skaters/choreographers want to cram as much crap into the footwork passes as possible.

OK, now Miki WUZROBBED.
All results are fixed. The Western Block is working.

Miki has been getting dinged for her Lutz-combo all season, regardless of how high she jumps. I didn't get to see it but from what I understand, the trend is that loops in 3-3 are more likely to be underrotated than toe loops. Go figure.
