Magical Programs from Skaters You Aren't A Fan Of...

I certainly don't mean you have to hate the skating, but what programs from skaters have touched or impressed you greatly even when you don't normally care for the skater?

I can think of two right off -- I actually don't normally enjoy Dai all that much, but I really liked

Takahashi's techno Swan Lake short


Also, and I still don't usually like to watch her:

Kostner's Pachelbel Canon short


I can watch those programs over and over, even though I haven't been moved by much else that these skaters have done.

Truly, skating can be magical when the right music, choreography, and performer come together!

What are some programs that really "rose above" for you, from skaters you don't normally particularly enjoy?

But in answer to the original question, Miki Ando's "Scheherezade"

Because Canon is probably the only "perfectly clean" program of hers, and it really showcases what she is truly capable of when she doesn't falter?

Philippe Candeloro's "D'Artagnan" (1998 Olympics) - I liked a few of his Olympic eligible programs ("The Godfather" and his "Saturday Night Fever" exhibtion), but I've been very disappointed with his pro programs (especially "George of the Jungle").

Yukari Nakano's Cinderella program 2006. Love her step sequence! Lovely costume and lovely choreographer.

Irina Slutskaya's 2005 World Long Program was magical.

I loved his Bravehart Pro routine... but I agree, for the most part we would turn to another channel while he skated because of the offensive stuff.... (I'm still scarred from Sex Bomb)

Her short programs at 2004 Worlds (Song from a Secret Garden) and 2005 Worlds (Country) were clean. So I don't know where this "only" business comes from. Short term memory loss, maybe?

Technically speaking, Canon wasn't perfectly clean, but it was both technically and artistically fulfilling.

Buttle's long and short at Worlds - it made the programs complete that he, for once, didn't pop / step out / fall / double foot - and suddenly I got the appeal of Buttle, that till then, I never really got, mostly because his other medal-winning performances were often error-ridden - and I just couldn't appreciate his intricacy and musicality. It's a shame that he retired right after those two performances.
