Congratulation to Mai's winning of Nebelhorn Trophy ladies' and at her 1st event of senior debuting season! :hap10:
It's really nice to see her overcoming the illness and getting back to skating. Hopefully everything will go well for Mai in the new season and upcoming events.

Two lovely programs from Mai! The SP seemed to need a little more speed, but the FS was a joy to watch! I was just checking the Skate America list and am so excited that I will get to see her at that event! Looks like she also has Cup of China. Kudos to her for coming out in her first Challenger and doing so well!

She's a natural, smooth skater. I really enjoyed both programs she did at Nebelhorn. Yuka Sato choreographed her FS, that style really suits her.

I don't really know too much about Mai so was anxious to see her today at SA practice. I was very impressed with her carriage, the way she takes her time with her movements, her stretch, and her jumps were pretty decent. I thought she needed a little more speed in her spins, and on one spin she seemed to just sort of fall out of it. Very charming young lady though with good musicality. Can't wait to see her compete in the SP tomorrow.

thank you Arriba for your report!! :thank: i dont expect her to win even if she skates cleanly and others dont cause she is at a disadvantage when it comes to PCS but she is definitely medal contender, and after yesterday's practice reports i noticed more people have her at top 3 at predictions game
here is her interview backstage : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np0l2h7Sywk
all the best to her at her 1st GP!! :yahoo::cheer:

Wow! it is her first GPS? And Kobayashi-san helps her. She is like a mother for Japanese skaters although she became famours for the moment to japanese figure skating fans. https://twitter.com/debbyryan513/status/434192828013355009/photo/1

Thank you for your report, Arriba! And as for her coreographer of Sp, Masshimo, i know he is working with Marina. she seems to keep the works with them for the past months. Further, her coreographer of FP is yuka SATO! im interested in the program.

Good luck Mai!

I think she might surprise a few people this weekend - she seems "under the radar" for many, even though she made it to the Junior GP final last year and won at Nebelhorn this year. (some of my photos of her at GP final)

Her skating is lovely.

Good job by Mai in her SP. She was so cute when they announced her score (2nd place). My opinion is the same as what I said about her practices - she has good jumps but needs more work on steps and spins. The audience really cheered for her, and I'm so happy she had such a positive experience for her GP debut.

She's so pretty to look at! I really loved her and Mariah's skates, today. Does she have a 2nd GP planned? I don't remember.
EDIT: Nevermind, just found it is Cup of China. Good luck, kid! :cheer:
