I wonder why Alex is keeping that longish hair though; I thought I saw him flipping it out of the way a few times during SC.
 
I think I said it before, but I really, really like their programs this season :yes: I hope they will make it to GPF, beacuse they deserve to :clapper:
 
i am not super fan of ice dance but their FD is absolutely amazing, everytime i see their twizzles i feel like crying, its one of the highlights of the program also love that spiral lift, she is just goergous and both of them looked so emotional at K&C, esp Alex , speaking of Alex, i absolutely love his long hair :luv17: :love:
 
The only real problem with his hair is that when he twizzles he looks like that red and white mario mushroom (is it called super mushroom?), at least to me. I find it funny and a little distracting. The rest of the time though I certainly don't mind it :)
 
True fans, never lose faith. A wonderful week for them and for fans of this sport to see two beautiful souls deliver such heartfelt performances.

As always, Maia and Alex are generous with their fans, sharing pictures through Instagram, with the vast range of friends that they seem to attract with such ease, including skaters from all over the world, past, present and future.
Admire them so much for being such great ambassadors for the sport, both on and off the ice.

They do an incredible job posting truly thoughtful and beautiful photos. They are in a league of their own in so many ways.

I've always liked the Shibs, but after Skate Canada I consider myself a huge fan!! Both of the programs are absolutely stunning (those twizzles :luv17:) and the EX is lovely. I'll be rooting for them this season!
 
I hope the judges' room is a-twitter with comments about the Shibs' performance at Skate Canada. Finally, they are getting noticed! I see their FD scores are pushing on Chock and Bates. Imagine if the Shibs had skated at SA...would they have beaten C/B in the FD? Maybe the high SD scores for C/B would have kept them first but the Shibs SD has a lot of room for growth. Weaver and Poje got a "home crowd" bump and their performances were very nice. But...with a level playing field at the next GP or maybe even GPF, I think the top spot is not a shoe-in for either C/B or W/P. Bring on the Shibs!
 
Looking ahead to NHK, what are the Shibs' prospects? Are P/C competing or is Gabriella still recovering from her concussion?

They will be competing against B/S again but they beat them at SC.

P/C haven't WD from either of their GP events, and Gabriella seems to be recovering well :) I don't remember seeing any clips of their programs for this season, but after what Maia and Alex did at SC, I think it will be close between these two teams. Guillaume and Gabriella may beat them in PCS, but the Shibs are great in TES and there was still room to grow at SC. I think they pretty much have the silver on the bag, but they will fight for gold, no doubt. NHK has great skaters in all disciplines :yes:
 
For what it's worth, Papadakis/Cizeron weren't super strong in the SD. It was was that FD that help P/C overcome deficits. The only time they were first after the SD was at Europeans. Maia and Alex beat P/C in the SD twice last season -- at Cup of China and at GPF.

I"m glad to hear Gabrella is recovering, but I'm sure the lost training time will be a factor, just a matter of how much it will impact their competitive ability.

My best to Gabriella but I am hoping for a strong showing by the Shibs. It will certainly take P/C some time to get their "A" game in order but "may the best couple win".
 
Maia and Alex have crazy skills when it comes to bridging their skating world with some of the coolest "on the rise" creators across different art forms and platforms.

Maia and Alex attended the fundraising gala for Right To Play in New York. They are athlete ambassadors for this global organization founded by Olympian Johan Olav Koss, and is a favorite amongst Olympic athletes especially.
