Looks like Alex is featured on GQ's Instagram account: "GQ Guys":

How cool that GQ is rooting for a male ice dancer! Shibs! Represent!

Reviewing the GQ-guys IG feed, the "hand in the pocket, stand by the logo door, smolder" seems to be one of GQ's standard casting shots. Alex fits right in.

Alex just posted the sweetest tribute to Maia and his mom for International Women's Day:

https://www.instagram.com/p/BRZn1M0DmcL/?hl=en&taken-by=alexshibutani

I'm always proud of @maiashibutani.
She is my sister, my teammate, and my friend. Maia inspires me every day both on the ice and off with her strength, determination, discipline, wisdom, poise, and thoughtfulness.
Maia is capable of achieving anything she puts her mind to and supports others to pursue their dreams with the same passion and commitment.
I'm so grateful to our Mom who loves us unconditionally and believes in even our craziest dreams. She has given us a set of values that we strive to follow and has always put our needs before her own.
To those women who have been a part of my life so far... who have cared for me, supported me, and taught me - Thank you, and Happy #InternationalWomensDay.

Also, TAHbKA from FSU translated a recent Russian interview with Alexander Zhulin and he said some nice things about the Shibs:

EV: Talking about the top 5, who would you name except for Virtue/Moir and Papadakis/Cizeron?
AZ: It's totally my personal choice: Bobrova/Soloviev, Shibutanis and Chock/Bates.

EV: Why Chock/Bates and not, say, Weaver/Poje?
AZ: I just like the 2nd Canadian duo less recently. It's not a mark, it's just my personal impression. I was never into talking about my colleagues work and looking for the bad sides, am much more into looking on their strong sides. I always try to see what do the others do that we don't.

EV: What are your rivals best qualities?
AZ: I love Cizeron's knee work. I like how the `man/woman' relationship works for Virtue/Moir. I love the polished elements in Shibutanis - every move is a perfection. I can't really say anything about the other teams - as a viewer there is something lacking for me to be in awe.

Cute picture of Maia with Massimo https://www.instagram.com/p/BRddoQ8Aw5b/?taken-by=maiashibutani

I was seeing that Massimo was coaching in Detroit (Krylova/Pascual) in 2011-2014, he is listed only as coach of H/D but being in the same coaching team I think he could had worked with all the other teams too.
Krylova/Camerlengo have had difficulties with their teams the last seasons, while Maia and Alex is getting better results since Massimo is with them, and it is not only the choreography, their skating looks much better too. I was just wondering if maybe Scali changing to Marina´s team affected/harm to Krylova´s teams.

Thanks to semogal who posted this interview by FS Gossip in FSU http://fs-gossips.com/maia-and-alex-shibutani-marina-listens-us-and-we-listen-her/

Do you remember the first training session under her guidance (Marina)?

Maia: I remember Alex couldn’t do something … (laughs)

Reveal the secret, who was the first figure skater in your family?

Alex: Yes, I’m not one of those who was inspired by the idea of becoming a figure skater, looking at someone’s programs on TV. But when I saw at the rink how much Maya is passionate about it, how much joy it brings her, that’s when everything changed. I decided to try. At first we did single skating, but we liked to spend time on the ice together. So the decision to team-up has already been a logical step.

Typical sister mocking her brother but Alex can't help praise her . He is so cute :luv17:.

Tirico tweeted "ShibSibs two of America's best"
They apparently talked about more than just skating. "...basketball, football, broadcasting and the Olympics"

Their ability to connect so effortlessly with people beyond skating is pretty exceptional. In my opinion, it's a positive for figure skating in the US, especially when sports fans have so many choices to turn to for sports entertainment.

Great interview, they look very comfortable talking to these guys, by the way, cool youtube channel, I already watched some other videos.

Wong Fu productions is huge. For a long time they were the only ones producing work showcasing Asian-American talent. I'm so proud of Alex and Maia embracing their heritage and understanding what a big deal it is to have Asian-American representation.

Maia and Alex have a small appearance in Ryan Higa's behind-the-scenes video of making their K-Pop parody group BgA's (Boys Generally Asian) music video "Who's it Gonna Be":

https://youtu.be/mutAQh9lJPE?t=213

It looks like they were visiting the set with Teen Wolf actress Arden Cho.

The actual music video is actually charting number 1 in the iTunes K-Pop charts.

it seems that Arden Cho who is friends with the Shibs is dating (rumor) with Ryan Higa who is member of the band. And the band is not really Korean, they are American :scratch2:

Maia and Alex have very cool friends .

I guess they really are boys who are generally Asian..."guys who can’t sing, dance or really speak Korean and try to start a K-Pop band."

:laugh2:
