I just want to clarify a tad of your translation. It doesn't say several people witnessed Mao and Daisuke. It says that these two are so famous that several people even outside of a skating mecca like Nagoya would recognize them. There's a witness account from a 40-year old women and an undisclosed acquaintance. The article also doesn't mention Dai's leg injury.

I think it would be cute if they are dating, but it could still be a speculation pairing like they did with Yu-Na and Tae Hwan.
