Mao Asada

I cannot wait to see my first 3A in person, not to mention a Mao Asada StSq ! She (and Elena R.) is definitely the skater I'm most looking forward to seeing live. Good luck, Mao! :cheer:

I'm secretly hoping Mao's going to win this world title again.
Good luck! :cheer:

I want it to be either her or Satoko. I want her to skate her best to build confidence going forward and to have gorgeous programs to marvel at for years to come. And I know her best will be a win.

She's looking good! Those footage was taken on the 10th of March, I think??

I hope she finishes the season with a huge bang!!

Good luck, Mao! I'll be sacrificing some goats to ensure your well-being and your happiness. Also maybe a sheep if I can find one, to ensure your 3A and 3F-3Lo have 100% success rates.

Can someone explain to me why her planned content is with two loops in the SP? I mean, if her combination is supposed to be with a 2L why would you write down a 3L?

I thought, the planned content as it's written there is not allowed, is it?

It could be a typo (sometimes happens). You're right, she's not allowed to repeat the 3Lo in her SP.

Just in case she ends up jumping a 3Lz. It probably means she will decide on her solo jump depending on what combination she will want to do; either 3F-3Lo or 3F-2Lo. Just my guess.

Mao Asada plans to compete through 2018 Olympics

BOSTON — Three-time World figure skating champion Mao Asada said Monday that she plans to compete through the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics.

“If I make the Olympic team,” Asada added with a laugh, through a translator.

:dance3:

I was worried that she was feeling bad after her rough outings this year. Hopefully she can make the 2018 team :)

This news just made my day, it's such an honor to have her in the sport and to still be able to witness beautiful skating, and see her push many more limits in the future, with sooo much talent it would be such a waste to see her leave the sport to early, this makes me soo relieved and happy

what a great news!!!

Mao is my sentimental and current favourite, such a competitor, with signature style, mature, composed, with fire to not only skate and win, but also to project and move us by her skating. She is a rare case for me of a skater I enjoy watching regardless of anything. Of course, my heart is breaking every time she pops/falls, but she's just a light on ice.

Wish Mao great Worlds in Boston - two great performances and loads of self-satisfaction afterwards :ghug:

Mao is looking super-fit and super-beautiful in the practice clips!! I hope everything comes together for her. :cheer:

I don't know how to give links to twitter clips. But, on this page there are a couple of more jumps by Mao: a really nice 2A / 3T and a great 3A!

Here are a couple of wonderful pictures of Mao practicing at Worlds. The best way to get really nice quality photos is to right click and save as.
