Mao Asada

My only wish for the ladies free was a perfect or near perfect skate of Mao which brings me to tears. I was not disappointed at all.
Yes, there were techniqual mistakes in her program, but her overall presentation and feel for every movement was sheer brilliance.
Thank you, Mao!

I love Mao but it was easy to tell that she wasn't in her top form at Worlds. Regardless, she did well for her current condition and I hope we'll see her at full strength in the future.

Loved Madama Butterfly program and choreography.

Mao needs to do the 3F-3L in the short, even if it means doing a 3T or a 3S as her solo jump... it would give her more chance to be in the final flight.

I am just so happy she is back and look forward to see her next programs! She deserved higher PCS! <3

Mao started her gala performance right in front of where I was sitting! I was in the front row and she stopped to put all her props on the rail which was inches away from me! And during the part where she puts on her hat, she gave us a big grin. Let's just say, my day was made :D

Thank you to everyone who shared your Mao experience/news with us fans through out the season. I really appreciate it. :thank:

As far as how this season went, never mind the (unjust) scores she was giving throughout the season, judging by you guys comments, Mao made a major impact (in a positive way) on us with her return. And I for one can't wait to see what she will surprise us with next season (if she continues).

After the LP, Mao said "Finally, I could make a start".

Yes. Her warmup time has ended.
I really look forward to seeing her next season.

At the same time, Mao, can you please try working with a different choreographer?:luv17:

Oh my God! You are so lucky. I am envious hahahaha
Is she really looks beautiful in close distance?

She was so beautiful! She was literally inches away from me. I was in shock, I was so lucky I happened to be sitting where she was setting up all her props.

So lucky! :luv17: Did you attend both segments of the ladies competition? How did her performance appear live?

I also saw her live, but from much further distance than solar at the EX. You could instantly see the class. :)

Yes I saw both segments, but not in the front row. She was absolutely gorgeous. Especially her long program. I also saw her during practice too!

I am so happy that Mao is happy with her worlds experience :)

And while the placement is her worst ever at a world championships, it wasnt her worst at all! Compare this to her 2012 performance. Impossible! She wasnt at her best, but it was good :)

I'm always so thrilled when seeing her TES score right after she's finished, but when it starts falling I'm always so angry at the judges xD To think she was at 74 with a doubled Lutz!

Sometimes I think they should just forget the close replays after the performance. Why penalize somthing that you couldn't see in real time before? Why do you have to "destroy" something afterwards, which impressed you before? It's like you dont want to acknowledge something great and you keep looking for faults :(

But then again, there has to be a system how to distinguish the skaters from another... sadly it is just not good for Mao.

Im looking forward to her next season and wish her a happy off season! She's one of the greatest, 3 times world champ, she's tied for the most GP titles and she's been activive on the senior scene for ten years! She'll be fine :D

Mao, thank you sooooo much for coming back to competitions!
Strong but delicate, matured, sophisticated but innocent Butterfly on ice she was. What beautiful, breathtaking and heavenly 4 minutes gift from Mao to skating fans in the world. :luv17::luv17::luv17:

I am thrilled that I got to see Mao live. She was ethereal. I was on the verge of tears during her performance. What a gift she has.

(What a stunner. And her 3F entry is so sleek and elegant. Of all Coach Sato's great contributions to Mao's skating, I might put the improved 3F technique as #1.)
