:gclap:Lovely. Oh Mao.
FINLANDIA?!
OMG the stars have aligned to create my best year EVER for attending FS competitions!
I was already planning to go to Finlandia...
And I am going to Trophee de France where Mao is assigned...
And if she makes it to the Grand Prix final in Marseille, I'll see her there...
And if she's in the World's team for Helsinki, I'll be there too!
Seeing Mao compete 4 times in one season... that would be beyond my wildest dreams!!!
I have already watched it three times despite being very busy thse days, and i can't remember anything like it, it's sooo uniq and different, the costume and music go well together, and the choreograhy is really fascinating and somehow creates a time travel or atmosphäre like someone else said, because even the way she moves from on place to another is interesting, she does soo many turn in both directions, transitions and steps while doing so, leaving no empty moment during the program, the choreography seems really complex, and reminds me of TAT's usual level of complexity in choreography, it's refined and very elegant, giving the feel of watching art!
I hope Mao's new comptitive programs will be uniq like this

I loved Mao's long succession of rapid twirls / turns that she did several times in her exhibition program like long loops of calligraphy done with the body and the balletic intricacy, lightness and grace of her turns and steps, almost like highly stylized, school figures at times with practically no crossovers, all while leaving the mind to fill in the few blank spaces she left in the myriad of marvelous shapes she made on the ice. There is really nobody else I have seen who has attempted such a thing. I think Mao's baroque / classical style costume is a wonderful fit for the intricate and ornate style to the choreography and music. So, I thought the program was fascinating and visually innovative. I heard that Mao nailed all her jumps in the first show, so i just hope Mao can relax and settle into a "smooth groove" of hitting her jumps like I heard she did in the first performance. More than anything else, I am impressed that Mao continues to challenge herself with such widely contrasting, complex and beautiful styles while continuing to face a scoring system that in so many ways turns a blind eye to her talents and efforts, though the number of people captivated by her performances is far more. Given this, it's impressive that she has continued to put herself on the line under the spot light for such a long time.
Mao's Bolero performance was fabulous with every elegant and intricate movement and extension done with such loving attention that captured the mood of the music so beautifully.
Gorgeous, isn't it?! Love the music, the choreography, the costume, the light & airy steps, the soft arms. Just love Mao - period. Still a little bit of a work in progress right now, but this is going to be a really powerful piece for her as she polishes it more and more...Thank you so much Mao for coming back!!!
) and almost all her past EX, I am waiting~:agree:
I've probably watched it more than 20 times, can't believe my eyes! Mao is lighter than a feather although it is a killer program, Bach would be very proud of her!![]()
It seems to have more room to improvement as it looked awesome but still a bit raw.
I am really looking forward to seeing when she pulls it off just like her caprice (admire the step sequence) and almost all her past EX, I am waiting~
I understand why the fan wanted to give her feathers :agree2:

:hap85:
You can tell they are all just kind of testing the waters with the new programs, but that's fine! I think it takes a long time to fine tune things. I remember during the choreography training (for Madame Butterfly?) Mao even talking to Lori N. about where should she breathe?! I remember being so surprised to hear that. I don't know, I just assumed they're breathing like a normal person out there!
Oh, I love that photo! That's the closest one I've seen of the costume. I love the detail! Very pretty! :hap93:

After a description like that, OMG I can't wait to see it! *_*Mao skated to her new SP today.
According to reports, her costume is something like the black costume she wore in the TV commercial minus the feathers and with lots of illusion mesh.
Couldn’t find much info. on the choreo except that the stsq is modern, the ending pose is cool, it looks like a Tarasova program, Lori is serious this season, Mao looked sharp but her jumps were off today, it's a beautiful program overall and it's unlike anything she's done before:hap85:

A limited number of seats are already available... I imagine more will be released soon. The FFSG posted on her FB page that the tickets for Grand Prix de France will be put on sell in a few days. Better be on the lookout for them.
I remember Lori telling her not to blink at the beginning of the program because it takes the magic away or something like that.
It's not like she has a million other things she has to think about during her program![]()
Somehow I think her 3A and 3F/3Lo and gorgeous steps were more important than blinking. wow black glove is back n its awesome
thanks roma for the short clip but no sound, makes me kind guesst with part it is
so alot of mao program looks like TAT program
what happen to TAT
is she a bit unhealthy
why does mao not just go to make program with TAT
or maybe she wants some stability, so for this quad she choose the same choreographer
