Mao Asada

I think the outfit would work if she wore shorts so as to show off her legs rather than trousers. But I haven't seen her moving in it so I'm not sure.

With the other white outfit, well... Mao is... how shall I put it without sounding vulgar... well, you can tell that she is Mai's sister. Their body shape is definitely looking similar. In other words, Mao has a beautiful woman's body!

There were props involved as well so I'm going to assume (read: hope) this is the exhibition-only outfit.

Gosh it's even worse up close. The fact that she's wearing trousers is the only part I like about this.

Yeah. Now is not the time to cover up those beautiful lines. Tux is a great idea, but the outfit has to be more skin-hugging. It's probably Japanese costume-making. Maybe she can get her Canadian designer to make a tux for her.

It will take time for this outfit to grow on me

About her EX costume, Why just why it should be that...orz orz :drama:

I don't mind that one so much. But the group number shirt and skirt for the girls is soooo...not my style. I don't think it should be anyone's style.
All these beautiful girls, and it doesn't compliment any of them. https://40.media.tumblr.com/24ad9c7b2e1d9e1a9993302d5448a375/tumblr_nrw8bwOaWM1s3blyqo2_540.jpg

But I can't wait to see the videos.

If I can stand Yuzu's costumes, I can stand anything.

But the fact that All of Yuzuru’s recent costumes are great even the requiem one looks good to me.

Mao..why

I've gotten used to them. And Requiem suits Yuzu. But back to Mao and these costumes... Why and what was the designer thinking? It looks so cheap.

On the other hand, the collaboration of the 3 gorgeous ladies, looks so nice. Their dresses are very suited to their physique.

I don't have a problem with any of her outfits. They're all for shows, not competition.

1. That is NOT a suit, it's an outfit matadors wear during their bull fights.

2. How can we judge any of her outfits before we see them in context. Looking at a picture of an outfit is very different than seeing them in action. Why don't we wait and set how they look with her performing in them before hating on them.

There is a Top Hat....and a cane. Matadors don't have those. http://mainichi.jp/graph/2015/07/23/20150723k0000m050130000c/018.html
But we are just engaging in summer time costume deconstruction, don't mind us. It may indeed look better when seen on video.

I want to give the designer of her Ex costume punishment.

Yes. the collaboration dress is beautiful which I could find relief

It's supposed to be a tuxedo, a copy of the outfit that Fred Astaire is wearing in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpJoJv2-Nmg (AKA Mao's EX music)
But yeah, the designer decided it will look better with ruffles, pink bowtie & buttons and rhinestone stripes :hopelessness:

The rest of the oufits is pretty, and I don't mind the group number dresses (they were always a bit on the wild side ;) ). I hope the "matador tuxedo" will be changed a bit. In the video one can hardly see Mao, just the floating ruffles and pink buttons (as the loose black outfit is poorly visible against the black background).

Sorry if I I made you something uncomfortable for that.
We always talk and criticize about Yuzuru’s costumes in the same way on his thread so…

It's a 70's styled tuxedo. I have no idea why they chose the 70's, as that era is really removed from the swing and traditional pop genre that her music is from
