Mao Asada

I like the one on right, which Mao wore at Finlandia better, because since it is a fire dance I like the way the flames leap out from the sides. It's just a more fiery and passionate design. Plus, the I like the way the illusion fabric matches Mao's skin color more in the first costume. The second one looks nice too though.
I prefer the one from Finlandia too, for the same reasons... (but it's on the left in that side-by-side picture?)

Katelyn Osmond and Evgenia Medvedeva got much higher scores in their step sequences than Mao did in her Skate of America LP, so it proves to me that the scoring isn't just wrong but inverted. Of course, this doesn't even consider jump tech calls or PCS, which I also think are way, way wrong compared to Mao. But, I am so glad Mao is striving to show us such gorgeous programs in the face of a left knee injury and such excessively harsh underscoring.

Hi gotoschool. This is for you, for your peace of mind ;)

Mao’s 2008 NHK performance. (which I watched yesterday.)

I was impressed by her ice coverage with speed, not to mention her spins, spirals and steps.
IN ALL, this kind of amazing performance will never get old! ( I say her stumble at the very end was cute.) :yay:

From what I can gather from google translate, this article posted 8 hours ago indicates that Mao departed for France, so I guess she will be arriving at any time. The article has a picture of Mao with a mask and a cap trying to be incognito and from what I can get from google translate she didn't respond to questions, although I am not sure about this. I wish her all the best in giving great performances. It is always a great pleasure to watch her uniquely beautiful and soulful skating.

I am STOKED for Trophee de France!

Especially since Mao said in interview a while ago that she has nothing to lose (I guess she means, GP Final is out of reach)... so she would not skate "cautiously" this time O_o, and we might even see her 3A...

Ritual Dance... when Mao "lets herself go"...?! OMG, I can't even imagine...!

GO MAO!

GO MAO!

According to some recent articles, she said she isn’t yet prepared for 3A so she would pass on it this time and also still feel questionable about 3-3, too.

It can be said that the condition of her injury is quite no-good? :(

In any case, Go MAO! :cheer:
