Math question

if you have a pole 40 feet high - and from the bottom of the pole it is 125 feet - how high is it to the top of the pole.

Pythagorean Theorem: c² = a²+b².

c = square root (40x40+125x125) = 131.244.

If the pole is 40 ft long. That's how long it is from bottom to top.

A line perpendicular to two intersecting lines at the point of intersection is perpendicular to the plane of those lines.

and in this case, I see no reason for Pythagorus, the 40 is a given.

(I'm sure I missed something.)
