Max Aaron: "I can't wait!" (Video)

He would, that adorable dork!

A lot of information here. So he had other issues in his life last season - that would explain a lot, but of course he kept it quiet, of course he never said anything til now. Unable to use his stomach muscles properly and dealing with emotional unrest - many lesser skaters would have crumbled completely with such a combination. And he tried not to say anything, tried to keep it quiet. He is everything.

Now. Someone with better ears than me help me out. Did he say he was going to try a quad Lutz? I think that would be perfect, actually (his triple Lutz is divine) but holy wow that would be great!

He sounds happy, relaxed, positive, upbeat. I want him to get that Olympic dream so badly. I don't think I could bear to see his sad, sad eyes again.

I think(?) he said he has been working on the quad lutz ... but he does not know yet whether he will compete with it "this season."

That was my understanding. He was talking about Nathan Chen's crazy abilities to land quads and being very gracious and genuine in praising Nathan. He then said something about the youngsters making them easy and chuckled and said they're definitely not. After that, I thought he said something to the effect that he was working on the quad lutz but would only include it if it was successful because otherwise it wouldn't make sense. He then said the quad toe and quad sal were definitely in and he was planning two quads in the short and two in the long.

As as added note, I'm not usually a big warhorse fan and am saddened overall that many skaters aren't being a little more adventurous during this Olympic season yet...there are a few skaters whose choice don't bother me. I guess that's a little contradictory! I'm actually excited about Max skating to "Bring Him Home" and think it could work really well for him.

I also thought it was interesting that he's now working with Katherine Hill on choreography, and I believe he pretty much said that she is local and that was important to him in selecting a choreographer. (I immediately wondered if Mills was still on his team, but he later confirmed he is and made a comment something like "It takes a village to raise a skater" or something like that. To me, it's another thing that shows Max's awareness of his weaknesses and realization that to achieve his goal of continuous improvement in his artistry, he needs more day-to-day support. Good for him for that! I wish him so much luck this season!

Does anyone know if Max's FP Costume is complete. It's hard to tell from the video as its quite dark but, I hope he'll be adding some color to it later in the season. Kind of off Topic but, Timothy Dolensky had a nice score to win the event. He's always a wildcard and with his beautiful spins, you never know where he'll end up if he lands all of his jumps at Nationals.

I was at the comp and Max wore the same costume to both the SP and the LP. I'm now wondering if it's even a costume, although it seemed awfully tailored for a practice outfit (for Max), with a little flippy part at the waist (sorry, I don't know the name for it).

I think we'll need to wait and see.

:agree: I asked Max a day or two ago about Phillip -- in reference to the GS interview. Max works with Katherine every day, and also makes visits to Phillip to work with him. (I did not ask how often Max is able to travel to Phillip.) Per Max, Phillip is fine with this arrangement .

Not a direct quote from Max, but I got the sense that it is a "best of both worlds"-type scenario for him.

For both the SP and FS at this week's comp, Max wore his Black Swan costume :luv17: -- with the evocative flappy hem on the shirt.

Presumably (IMO) costumes for this season's new programs are in the pipeline, but not ready yet.

Just for grins, throwing back to cute young Max in 2005 in his Les Mis costume as a juvenile:
