Wish Max a good and injury-free season. :)

Good luck to him at Cup of China this weekend! :cheer: My husband and me are sending our :clapper::party::hap10: in front of TV.

deedee and Mr. deedee always are such great cheerleaders for Max :ghug: :thank:.

Go, Max :yay:.

:bmrk: 2017 CUP OF CHINA :bmrk:

Max, meanwhile, has shared a picture from his photoshoot with Jason. It's too cute!

OMG, video of Max is being shown today on a Times Square billboard  for the USOC Winterfest and 100 Day Countdown in NYC :dance2:.

Check out the @usfigureskating Instagram story.

ETA:
See also the @bullesyecommunications Instagram story, which twice captured Max on a Times Square billboard.
Once in a still shot; once in some panning video. In both cases, the billboard is behind and to the right of the Hershey's S'moresmobile.

The billboard video includes snippets of Max and Jason from the same shoot as the photo that karne had posted.

(And images of Nathan are being seen among sponsored athletes on a separate Coca-Cola billboard. One or more Coca-Cola billboards?)

ETA:

Max and Jason were seen on at least two billboards in Times Square (one larger and one smaller).

And stuff from their shoot was edited into at least two different video pkgs shown on the billboards.

Max will skate third in the second group of the Cup of China SP. He will be at 20:12:00 local time.

Go, Max :yay:.

Congratulations to Max for his bronze! His face will hurt tomorrow from smiling so much. Good for him!!! :hb: :points: :party2:

WOW what a FS performance from Max.:yahoo: I believe he won the FS!
Congrats to him for winning the Bronze Medal. After everything he has been through the past couple of season,
how sweet is this win for him! Max is back!

*floats happily away to bed*

He won the damn FS and he damn well beat Zhou and he won a damn medal and take that, all those people who didn't believe in him. We told you all so!

Amen! Have a good sleep.

So proud of Max. :ghug: :dance2:

Things to be happy for, Cup of China edition:

(1) Max won the bronze ... and we will get to see his smiling face :luv17: at the medal ceremony.

(2) New ISU PBs with his FS score of 176.58 and FS TES of 96.60.

(Previous ISU PBs: FS 175.50 and FS TES 94.90, both at 2017 U.S. Classic.)

(3) Max won the FS. Great to see him at the top of the protocol sheets.

(4) Level 4s for step sequence and all spins.

(5) All jumps rotated.

(6) Top U.S. man at Cup of China.

(7) I assume he will skate in the gala?

Have I forgotten anything? :hap93:

Congratulations to Max.

Does anyone know if the Medal Ceremony will take place after Pairs or will it be tomorrow?

I don't want to miss Max.

Watching medal ceremony live right now on Icenetwork. Not being aired on Olympic channel, maybe later?

Max Aaron Wins Free Skate For Cup Of China Bronze; Chock & Bates Take Silver
By Karen Price | Nov. 04, 2017, 11:01 a.m. (ET)

(includes file photo of Max from 2016 Worlds, also used in the headline graphic on the Team USA home page at the moment)

The ISU recap included quotes from Max:

“This is my third time in China and both times I was fourth – at the Junior Grand Prix Final and last year I was fourth again (at the Grand Prix). Now this time in China I got a medal and it feels great,” Aaron told the post-event press conference. “The skates I had were a little bit tough, but I enjoyed every minute of it.”

Wishful thinking re maybe one more thing to be happy about:

During this year's live streaming of Cup of China, I heard an announcer mention that Lu Chen was at the event (although I don't remember whether the mention was during one of the men's segments).

I hope Max was able to have another reunion with her and get another dose of inspiration from her as he makes his case for 2018.

She must be so pleased that her once-little friend Max won the bronze.

Throwing back to the great photo from their reunion at 2016 Cup of China:

So happy for Max winning the freeskate and getting on the podium at CoC.

This was his best performance, IMO, since Boston Worlds and he's improved so much since then.

Onward and upward for Max!

Max is interviewed on the brand-new installment of Ice Talk :yay:.

I haven't listened to it yet, but here is the blurb:

Ep. 48: Ryan Bradley/Max Aaron

2011 U.S. champion and current Olympic Channel broadcaster Ryan Bradley joins host Jackie Wong to preview the competition at this week's NHK Trophy. Then, another former U.S. men's champion, Max Aaron, discusses how he revamped his technique on his quad toe and reveals the inspiration behind his 'Phantom of the Opera' free skate
.

http://web.icenetwork.com/fans/icetalk

Max's interview starts at approx. 27:10.
Lasts approx. 23 minutes.

Per Jackie's tweet this morning:
"... @MaxTAaron talks programs, costumes design (!), and his approach to this season"

sorry don't have much time now but I Have To say THIS at least:

Many many congrats to Max for the podium finish at Cup of China this past weekend!!! :hb::hb::hb:
HeWON the free over the likes of Javi Boyang Mikhail and Vince, actually! :yahoo:

Really enjoyed Max's Ice Talk. Fascinating to hear his diligence and commitment to reworking his 4T. Love his winning attitude!

Among everything else was something I've never heard before - a touch of steel, a smudge of evident irritation as he called out the costume-whiners (who so often are also components-whiners) and told them to make up their minds.

The interview was such a delight, but the impression I got overall, as he spoke about enjoyment and having his parents with him...now I have a cloud of sadness hovering over me.

Bonne chance to Max in Grenoble :yay:.

The town looks beautiful, and I hope that Max is getting some extra inspiration from its Olympic history.
Happy for Max that both of his parents  are attending Internationaux de France.

In the practice reports thread, MaiKatze posted a link to tweeted video of Shoma taking a fall at practice.
Hope Shoma is OK :ghug:.

Meanwhile, glimpses of Max are in the same tweet plus another one from the same account.

Guess whose image is on the iTunes preview page for the icenetwork app?

It is the biggest image on the page, in a screenshot promoting coverage of Internationaux de France and other GPs .

Oh, and now I see that the same screenshot is the basis of today's USFS Facebook post to promote the app:

Survey of the day: Skaters and history

While each competitor here this week knows who Peggy Fleming is, only a few were aware that she won her Olympic gold medal in Grenoble. There was also only one skater -- Team USA's Max Aaron -- who knew that Fleming's Olympic triumph came 50 years ago. ....
