Those tears at the medal cermony really got to me..he's got to be one of the happiest medalists at this olympics. So happy for him!
slutskayafan21 said:Oh please, you call out scoring you think is wrong like Asada`s programs which you had said you consider less mature and polished than the older stars like Slutskaya, Cohen, and Kwan; which I agree with BTW. What I am doing is the same, calling out bad scoring and overscored skaters, and pointing out that a skater cant medal even with overscoring by close to 20 points per competition and bad skates by his rivals is telling.
Antilles said:Was one of Takahashi's lutzes in a combo? I don't recall. If they were both done on their own, then that would explain why the second one didn't count.
Engwaciriel said:How many jumps are you allowed to repeat? Takahashi did two lutz, two triple toeloops and two triple axels, but since on of the toeloops was in a combination, shouldn't the lutz count then? or have I've gotten the system completely wrong.
That's why I was so confused. I was at work and peeking instead of working and then got all upset. I'm happy with the medal winners. I just wish Johnny could have medaled, oh well, it was up to him.sk8fanconvert said:Wow, NBC has messed up! They're taking the free skate standings and putting medals next to them. They haven't factored in the short programs!
edited to add: Darn, beaten to the punch!
Were you mean Matt's 2nd lutz in combo?Sk8n Mama said:Wait, it's the lutz that's invalid??? That's bizarre. It wouldn't have netted him that much extra, though. He still would have been behind Joubert, I believe.
Bettercy said:I just can't belive that.
What's wrong with Johnny?
What happened to him???
enlight78 said:I saw Matt skate on NBC. He was great and totally underscored on the PCs( compared to what they gave plush and lysacek)
mzheng said:When I watched, his program absolutely amazing, so many transitions into jumps. Always something happens in the program yet so smooth. But I was wondering if his 2nd lutz which was in a combo (3Lutz/1Toe) was counted. Since I read somewhere 1toe is not counted as a jump, so if he did 3Lutz/1toe, it could be called as a single 3Lutz, which would disqualify this 2nd Lutz jump by Zayak rule.
