Mens' LP

How many times can Oda lose pts for doing too many jumps! Loved the 4t-3t. That should have def. been a 150 without the combo screw up.

Mroz bombing.:(

That's not bombing. It's his first outing at Worlds. He landed like 7 Triples and a Quad. That's not bad.

But it was painful to watch - he jumps like Joubert, but has nothing of Joubert's speed or edging. And that last spin was horrific.

Mroz didn't butcher the music, but I can't help but think that a more expressive skater would've suited the Bach music more....

oh brandon :/ there will come other times. Great for his first Worlds! I will keep my eyes on this boy!

I wish Johnny were here. *sighs*

Brandon is in 3rd.

Ok I am going to call team USA going to Vancouver JOHNNY WEIR, Evan "Bring It" Lysacek, and Jeremy Abbott or perfebly Bradly.

So the argument last night was about the quad and how technical merit is important. Yes it is, but technical merit shouldn't account for one good quad, but rather one good quad and a plethora of finely executed triples. People went on about how a quad is important for technical merit but how about executing good triples. It seems like people are focusing all their energy into one jump and blowing the rest of their other point-grabbing jumps.

This isn't a jab at Brandon or Yannick but rather the current trend. If people wholeheartedly believe technical merit is more important, end all be all, then the quality of their triples should be up there.

Kudos to Oda for his near-perfect program!

Not a fan, but this is the most expressive I've seen Jeremy and the most I've seen him 'perform'. The easiest it's been for me to watch a whole program of his so far...

After Mroz, Jeremy looks like a master class performer, which he is.
