Berthes, don't you think it's a bit of a generalization to say that all Russian coaches are cold and non-supportive.
and feeding off a steriotype, which I read quite often on the web. My bad. rain said:the Swiss skater who had the one fall, but oh the spinning. I want to watch him spin some more and am looking forward to the LP.
Me, too! Me, too! That was the greatest men's competition ever! I usually don't care much about the men -- no skirts flying up, no matter how Johnny Weir might dress, LOL -- but that was a tremendously exciting show!"Am I the only one who feels like I'm in some sort of non-reality place this week?? MAN it's hard to concentrate on "real life!" -- DoggyGirl

Plushenko is absolutely in a class by himself. A world by himself. Joubert was good. Lindeman -- Wow!, what a thrill that must have been for this young skater after so many ups and downs in his career.
Strangely enough, I don't really find Weir's skating to be effiminate at all. I think there is a certain reservoir of understated strength in his artistry. But next year his approach will have to be "quad or bust" if he wants to compete with the big boys.

But seriously, there is real life to get to...later. In the meantime, Plushy really took it to them...I felt this undercurrent of spunk and attitude just screaming, "don't you even think for a SECOND that I can't land these!" Great to watch that controlled aggression. Joubert...well. Not that impressed, I confess; being a huge Alexei fan, I think the similar choreography and program concepts just invite unfavorable comparisons (again, for ME) to the wonderful Yags. I too am not the biggest Weiss fan, but that was a killer performance, two-foot and all. Haven't seen Weir or Lambiel, but being a sucker for flow in the men's comps, and missing Abt as much as I do for that reason

Fall and all, he NEVER gave up on the performance...such an artist!!!!!!! Literally BREATHTAKING!!! SUCH good use of the music--exquisite! What is it about Swiss sportsmen these days? Between the gorgeous Roger Federer in tennis (his effortless grace on the court deserves artistic expression marks) and now Stephane Lambiel--who will hopefully start landing all his jumps and send all the competition packing!!! WOW
