Mens SP

oh that is bad comment for any woman's age, it looks like medieval times comment... i have almost the same age as joumbert and I can assure you you dont need more skin to enjoy a skater. My only note for Joumbert is that I enjoyed his sp in COr when i first saw it, at europeans it was ok, yesterday somehow it was old news for me and I was not very excited, he didnt seem also very excited. He is far from my fav skater but it is offensive a bit for an athlete this kind of comments.
I like safir duo music though.

Hey seniorita - we completely agree on something!

I love his short program music (and Kevin VDP who's also using safri duo's music!)

My purpose of life will be to make you agree on you-know-who:p

The costume was truly awful. The whole program came accross as an attempt to mimc John Curry meets Alexei Urmanov

lol, i thought the same about Urmanov the moment i saw him there!are you me?

Stranger things have happened! Maybe i just need to see live? And I actually would have done in 2006 if the tour they were bringing to Blackpool hadn't been cancelled! See it's his own fault i don't like him!

 Maybe we agree on everythign except you-know-who!!

Happy for Brian! I hope he will win and we will not see another World champion without a quad (Plushenko and Yagudin did quads 10 years ago!!!). And I also like Tomas Verner hope to see him on podium

The ISU website has a summary with some information on scoring. I was right, Joubert good levels on non-jump elements - he got level 3 on both step sequences, unlike at Euros. Evan got level 3 and 4! Patrick had level 3 on both.

Lord Voldemort has taken up figure skating? Well, I guess he could cast spells to make himself win over the judges.

I will avada kedavra you!I m not laughing :unsure::sheesh::scowl:
:laugh::laugh:

Lorf of the rinks...:p like he ever needed spells....

Oh ant you have to see him live. Then by the time Olympics arrive I expect to see you on tv holding a banner "Welcome back , I missed you"

You have only yourself to blame, calling him You-know-who!:p You know, there have on occasion been performances by certain skaters that have caused me to think I am under a Cruciatus Curse .

Lord of the rinks is good. I like. I would apply it to other skaters - I wonder if any journalists have used that for a story on skating?

ah, i dont get credits for the phrase , I had seen King on Ice- Lord of the rinks in a banner for plushy, I think Wolrds 2004 and I remembered now you said Lord V. ;) I know he was called the Tsar, the ZAr , i thought it was funny.
Maybe he is Voldemort, he makes eye contact and you drop dead:laugh:
I ll check his Slytherin origins;)

Assuming he lands it in the LP of course - something he didn't manage to do in the SP.

Even if Patrick was not overcored here and he received what he deserved, then the judges were sending him wrong signals during the season and therefore I am not surprised that he looked a bit disappointed. If you get something around 89 for almost identical performance few weeks before and then you get 82 (ok, it was a bit more tight, but still), then it is some sort of slap in the face. Compering competitions SHOULD give more accurate information. At the end, wasn't it CoP's goal not to set a standart for one competition like in 6.0 era, but to have one standart for all competitions?
I think where Chan was sent the wrong message was at 4CC; it was far higher than any other score he received all season, except maybe Nationals. At the time some posters suggested this may lead Chan to develop unrealistic expectations for later events. This appears to have been the case here.

Coverage in the Canadian media makes it seem as though Chan was really lowballed on PCS - but actually, agree or disagree, both Chan and Joubert had PCS within the range they have had all season for SPs, other than 4CC. Chan's component scores have ranged from a low of 36.05 at Skate Canada to 37.15 at TEB. Joubert's have been between a low of 35.75 at the GPF and a high of 38.90 at Euros. One can certainly argue about whether this scoring was justified, but for Chan and Skate Canada officials to act as if this came totally out of the blue is rather disingeneous.

seniorita, you're just too funny! :p

These judges are mostly middle aged women who don't get laid that often anymore and they have too much pride to go to a strip club. So male figure skating is like a strip show for them. The judges clearly enjoyed Brian's show tonight, therefore his high PCS! If Kozuka or Chan wants to win, they better show more skin!:p

In my opinion the above sounds totally ridiculous, considering that Joubert continuously gets high PCS scores in different competitions with different judging panels, unfortunately....

Hei Jaana just sent you a message. If you knew when the men's and ladies Free ( or ladies short too)will be shown in finland- I don't have eurosport. thanks.

Patrick scored only 81 (up to 82) at Trophy Bombard. He was way overscored in Canada.

There is one thing that came to my mind: Chan had a nearly clean SP at Skate Canada this season and scored something around 77 I think. He had a clean SP at TEB and scored a bit over 81. - so if you consider these scores, now a 82 doesn't seem that outrageous to me. If you consider the 89 at 4CC, it is a big loss.

Patrick scored only 81 (up to 82) at Trophy Bombard. He was way overscored in Canada.

Therefore I do not understand this constant ranting through the whole season that Patrick was hugely overscored all the time.

I think there are a lot of people who still don't understand that we have a new judging system.

Under the old judging system the question was, who skated best. Under the new judging system the question is, who scored the most points.

In this contest, Kozuka and Chan skated best (quality), Joubert and Lysacek got the most points (quantity.) Therefore Joubert and Lysacek are leading.

A bad quad is better than a good triple?

Under CoP judging, yes. Joubert got 10.6 points for his bad quad combo. (Don't blame me. ;) )

Mroz - what on earth was the hype about him for? It's the first time i've seen him. The costume was truly awful.

His costume?

Mroz gave an excellent performance for a skater at his level.

I watched the short last night. Honestly, I don't see how Joubert was in first. He didn't have clean jumps and quite frankly I thought that his artistry was lacking. Evan was clean and had great artistry and his program was by far much better then Joubert. Was it the hip shaking crap that Joubert did in the beginning of the running man type junk he did during the program? I just don't get it?
