Mikhail Kolyada

Who was the man in the K&C? Is it that off-ice coach Mikhail S you think?

Yes, according to the VK page

Where has Olga been? I saw her at a local competition with Valentina and Stasya last week. I miss seeing Misha with his two moms in the KnC šŸ˜‚

I don't think we should worry too much, just the right amount, haha. It's risky, but if he couldn't skate at all I doubt the doctors would let him do it. And we never know what's going to happen. If he's on the team, great, if he's not, more time for him to rest--although he's most likely going to the Russian Cup Final if he's not selected to Euros.

You are a voice of wisdom as always, I really envy your serenity

I don't! I mean I have nothing against Olga but a man is a welcome development I think

I am so proud of Misha, but God......he looked so exhausted. I am in awe that he was able to do this. The silver is honestly a lot more than what I was hoping for as he took the ice, so I am happy. Concerned about his health, but happy.

I love this layout, tbh. AND HE WAS A BEAST! So glad to see that he held on to the podium, and actually ended up in second place, which surprised me. Now he can rest!

It is absolutely the best possible outcome, let the Fed to put pressure on Maxim now and leave Mika alone!

Hope they let him skip the Gala and go home

The selfish fan in me says "No! I wanted to see his new exhibition program!" But it looks like we'll see it at Europeans and Worlds anyway :luv17: only if he's healthy enough, though. Maybe he should skip Euros?

After this competition, I'm starting to think Misha really likes the rush of competing. He may not be very good at it, but I think he likes it, especially when he's competing against the other Russian men

And you see, guys, let's relax now.

But can we make a prayer circle for him to keep this layout? I know it's totally the last thing we should talk about, but I loved him opening with the 3A. Though, it's kind of funny he fell on his best jump, but he did a lot better than I hoped. I'm just happy, man. Real happy.

I was so ridiculously happy when he opened with the 3A. It set the tone for the rest of the skate: from then on, I just knew everything was going to be okay. And that second 3A was to die for.

But knowing Misha, I doubt he will keep this layout, or even the opening 3A.

Just in case you're ready to watch it again ;)

Happy Kolyada! It looked like he was gasping for air when he finished skating though :( Hope he’ll have a chance to rest. Praying for his speedy recovery.

As I said in the event thread, that was quite remarkable.

It still strikes me as dangerous that he competed here, but he somehow pulled it out. Now please take it easy for a bit.

His interpretation was even better than at Nepela, I don't think I ever saw him fight like that which suited so brilliantly to the program

Yes! I really hope we see that fight at the later competitions. I'm sure he still feels he has a lot to prove.

So happy he gets to perform in front of an adoring audience in Japan :hap85:

ā€œNot everything that I planned worked out. Considering the circumstances, I am satisfied with my skate. We will prepare for future competitions.

I got out of the hospital on Monday. I didn’t skate between Thursday and Wednesday.ā€

How nice it is to hear him say he is satisfied with his skate. We haven't heard that since Nepela (did he even say "I am satisfied" there?). This is the true victory, folks :yahoo:

The thing is, his state made him slow down in both programs, which let him have time to skate slower. I think it helped him give more to the skates.

At Nepela the program wasn't quite there yet because they hadn't had time to clean it up and he hadn't had time to fully feel it. It was even out of sink in some moments
