'Kovtun telegraphing his axel while Mikhail Kolyada jumps like Victor Petrenko, Aleksei Urmanov & Aleksei Yagudin did. I want judges to assess the jumps correctly and not make any allowances for Kovtun. We have very good skaters Pitkeev & Kolyada and the judging should be fair.

Good luck to Mika! Men's short program starting at 12pm Moscow time tomorrow, the long is on Friday. A nerve wrecking Xmas ahead thanks to Russian Nationals! Will be keeping fingers (and toes) crossed. Go Mika!

No snow in Ireland either (thank God) but the storm named Eva approaching the West (this is the 5th named storm for the last two months) hopefully Eva will be kinder than Desmond (No 4)
