Mikhail Kolyada

At least no one can say he's behind schedule now - and let's hope Valentina does good on her promise not to change anything, even if the FED wants. Excited to see his programs, but we'll have to wait a bit more, I know.

An interview with Mika in Russian, he talks about his work with Stephane, that he helped him with step sequences and transitions,Stephane, his coaches and him were pleased with this experience. He doesn't want to name the music for his programms, the interviewer extorted from him, that FP will be rock'n'roll classics, and SP will be classic in unconventional unconventional with some interesting transition in it. The SP is something new for him, he confess, that he doesn't get into this image completly so far. Interviewer asked him about his new hairstyle - did he do it to create new image - Mika laughed - No. just visited a hair salon to cut his hair.

Oh no Mikhail, what happened to your lovely hair? *pout* Oh well, it'll grow again. Cannot wait to see his new programs!

A bit more from the test skates - the opinion on both of Misha's programs was generally positive both from the officials and some spectators who got to see them. He is definitely presenting a new image so that's a plus. He did not jump quads, only triples, so his skates were about the programs and non-jump elements.

Well, at least this time it seems like no programs will be scrapped, which I think affected him more than he wanted at the start of last season.

Klimochka has posted on the new FSO that she saw the programs and talked to Misha. He said his plans are to do 4Lz+3T, 4T and 3A in the SP. (Obviously the same principle as when they first introduced the 4T into the SP – if the quad lutz has a good landing, he'll do the combo there, if not, he'll move it to the quad toe.) Also 3As with spread eagle entries or difficult exits.

Klimochka also said she thought the programs were lovely and Lambiel had definitely had a positive influence. Misha obviously loves skating the LP. (The SP as he's said is a bit more of a challenge artistically and he needs more time to quite get it).

It's good to see that he's confident with his quads. It was a gamble to compete the 4lz last year, but it was scoring almost the same or more than his 3lz executed at its best, so if he can manage to jump his best, only good things will come. We all know how competing more quads gives you a boost in the PCS too, and that never hurts, for sure.

Also, this warm reception to his programs is awesome!

So far all those news sound so amazing  it's great to hear Mika seems to have a so much better start than last season, and I can't wait to see the programs! (Especially live in CoR  )

Mika is taking part in 1st stage of St Petersburg Cup, the comp is closed for public this year (WHY?)
SP was today he skated first with 96.80 no details as yet emerged
Dying to know his content...

^ An update: apparently it was 4lz two foot landing, 4T-3T, 3A
Aliev got 99 so Mika is in 2nd after the SP
Things getting really interesting for LP!

Nope, It was 4T-3T. Confirmed by the person who watched the competition.

That's good! Well its only August, it would be odd if everything was 100% and even at this stage Mika has a stable 4T-3T which will be very 'handy' in case of any issues with 4lz in a SP. A two quad SP is not going to be easy but if he gets it right by December it will be great. Go Mika!!!!

That sounds like such a great start into the season! Finger crossed for the LP, hopefully Mika can take a lot of confidence out of this competition
