I won't be able to watch Mone Chiba's Free Skating tonight, but I really really hope that it will be wonderful! Ganbatte (which is what she always do!)

And here's the gorgeous free skate from Mone complete with a standing ovation from the (mostly American) audience and my heartfelt congratulations to her on her first Worlds medal and hoping for many more to come! You know who started off with a bronze at Worlds, right? Right!
Apparently there will be 6 GP events, just GP Finland is not yet listed on ISU website but it is announced on the Finnish website...For next year's Grand Prix, of course Mone Chiba will have two spots; but in the previous years, there were six Grand Prix trophies before the Final, and the rule was that in each discipline, the World Gold Medallist could pick two of these, then the World Silver could pick two of the remaining trophies, then the World Bronze Medallist was assigned to the two remaining ones, so as to avoid a confrontation with another World Medallist at a Grand Prix trophy, or a lack of interest in another... And so, in turn, would the skaters ranked four to six at World Championships do.
For 2025-2026, at the moment only five Grand Prix trophies have been announced, and during this ending season, there have been talks about restricting the Grand Prix season to five competitions (plus the Final), many potential hosts feeling unable to bear with the costs of a Grand Prix trophy. If this is the case, I wonder how the assignments will be organised for the top scored skaters at World Championships.
The ongoing discussion in The Edge is assuming that there will be six trophies, which of course I hope, but am uncertain of.
Thank you, you're right, now I have seen it elsewhere too. It's just that the ISU site is a bit late, I had read that this year Finlandia would be a Challenger, and the dates and locations of the Challenger Series have not been announced yet.Apparently there will be 6 GP events, just GP Finland is not yet listed on ISU website but it is announced on the Finnish website...
