Hey guys time for a much needed update!!
First off, ladies.. wow was there for hours! Group A wasnt too exciting too be honest, russian girl Ksemia was good but i thought she was rather overmarked for what she did, technically was good, triple lutz off steps with arm above head, triple flip-double toe combo and double axel but the rest was a bit bland! First person that made an impression on me was Beatrisa Liang, shes so small and has so much energy and fire, shes great to watch! She had great spring in her jumps, did triple flip off steps, triple lutz-toe and 2axel.. her spins were also very good, fast and great positions! really enjoyed her. The japanese girls were really good also..Miki disappointed me a bit though, jumps were good although her spotting foot appeared to slip on the takeoff but she still landed it, i thought she was a bit bland though, there was so wow facot or anything that drew you in. Mao was awesome lovely jumps and spins and lovely artistry shes starting to really grow up! Took me by surprise when Caro overtook her (Caroline stepped off her triple lutz off steps) in saying that, shes SO fast and powerful over the ice and is nice to watch! Other people that were good were Yu na..she was awesome lovely to watch it was ashame she missed her jumps off steps.. Joannie also skated extremely well, she normally kinda bores me but i really enjoyed hertoday she was on fire!Thoought Kimmi was a bit undermarked also as she had a lovely program,although like miki was a little bland but it was still extremely good! Sarah Meier and Kiri Korpi were lovely to watch also with string jumps! Its so close at the top though, Just whoever skates best on the day!
Pairs free tonight was a nailbiter! SO Good!! Started getting better the third group in.. Everyone skated fairly well in that group, both americans langlois and hay and the bottom chinese.. the chinese pairs throws are amazing, so high! Langlois and Hay were very enjoyable, i like how the canadians are doing throw triple lutz its very different and difficult!
Second last group and it started to heat up..Pang and Tong led off with an outstanding skate, their throws and twists are just out of this world and their artistry has improved loads, was very impressed by them! Dube and Davidson were awesome, very very fast and sharp, i have a feeling their going to be very good!! .. The Zhangs were good although they went full out techinically all didnt pull off but they show so much potential, they have the whole package, just need to piece it together! The germans were outstanding! they were beautiful to watch, it had its mistakes, robin stepped off the second triple toe in their triple toe-triple toe sequence and then had a fall on the triple sal.. but they were beautiful to watch, they have a real flow and connection on the ice..they also performed a MASSIVE throw triple sal 4.29 into the program! The Russians were last to go and i didnt know how they would handle skating after the germans as the crowd was goin bananaaas..they opened with a quad sal was two footed but a very good attempt..tjhe rest of their program was filled with mistakes althoough they were lovely to watch and showed great promise!! Well up early for dance ppractice tomorrow, shall keep you updated
