Murakami is Morozov's top junior charge -- the 17-year-old impressed observers at the Moran Memorial several weeks ago with a clean quad toe.
I admit I completely missed Daisuke Murakami's quad.
Well done, Murakami-san

I thought he was working with Fraser & Lukanin? the article doesn't mention them either hmmm...maybe they changed coaches too?

Murakami is a clone of Takahashi (same exact jumping ). I just saw him at Mid's and he was awesome in the short program.

Would love to see what Morozov could do with a young pair team... that's the discipline where arguably his skating skills/footwork choreography/wizardry could really help a team differentiate.... Pairs programs always seem to GRIND TO A HALT when all but the very best go into their side by side footwork sequences... torture to watch...but with two bodies... imagine the possibilities

Hmm. . . What an interesting point! I wonder why he isn't working with any pairs (or is he?). With his ice dance background, his ability to coordinate two bodies playing off each other should be very good.

I totally agree... they could get someone with good mechanical/acrobatic skills to teach a team the necessary tricks (throws, lifts), and Morozov could make all the connecting moves brilliant... now THAT would make for an interesting pairs program.

I tought he worked with Putnam and Wirtz or I am getting that mixed up with another former dance turned coach? I recall their SP was criticized because it was too dancy.
