Re: Movie lines
Kasey,
Achk! For some reason I thought you had specified that it was a '50s film, but I was wrong, you didn't. "Pump Up the Volume" is a good one.
As for, "You're out of your tree"......"It's not my tree" Why that's Joon (Mary Stuart Masterson) to Sam (Johnny Depp) in "Benny and Joon"--Benny (Aidan Quinn) being Joon's brother.
For another Johnny Depp movie: "It was perfect." What movie and character?
Also, there's another '90s (or it may have been released in '00) movie I always think of when I think of "Pump Up the Volume," only because they both have a connection to recording, althouth "PUTV" is really about underground radio. Let's see, a good line....okay, this is slightly paraphrased, but if you know the movie, you'll recognize it:
"Do you have 'I Just Called to Say I Love You'? It's for my daughter."
"No! Go away! Do you even know your daughter?! There is no way she likes that song! Ooh, I'm sorry, is she in a coma?"

I know, it's an obscure choice but it is really a great movie. It was written by the same guy, Nick Hornby, who wrote "About a Boy," the '02 movie starring Hugh Grant. I find both movies to be very funny, real life stuff about what it takes to make the scary transition from perpetual adolescence into adulthood for men.
