Movies

ooo yes Knightly's Pride and Prejudice was good (though I liked Colin Firth's version too.)

I want to see Disney's Enchanted, but I don't wanna go by myself.

Maybe because it shows how great an actor he is because he's supposedly a great guy in person so he's not going outside of himself ot create a character...

You'll have to let me know how Enchanted is... my son doesn't want to see anything but August Rush and This Christmas and I'm still not convinced that the story makes any sense... I will say though that I'm thoroughly impressed that it resisted the urge to cast Hilary Duff, Hannah Montana or the Cheeta Girls as the princess character...

That's my husband's arguement, but between you and me - I'm starting to believe that Denzel might just be a gangsta in real life... he's a bit too good in this movie... I mean - would you be surprised if James Garfolino ended up having mod ties or that Al Pacino had a neon sign in his bathroom that said: the world is mine?

art imitating life imitating art...

(ok. its officially past my bedtime - I'm going all conspiracy theory about hollywood... never a good sign;))

well Hollywood is all about conspiracy's ;)

I don't even know if I'm going to see Enchanted

and I want to see August Rush too :) looks really sweet. (People Magazine says it's overly sappy, but I rarely agree with them anyway lol)

People magazine is also under the impression that I care about Paris Hilton or that driving a young mother to a mental breakdown by following her around 24/7 is journalism... And you know what? As crazy as the world is, I NEED a dose of sap...

I would add

Family Stone - dramatic comedy
Mr. Holland's Opus - drama
Elf - Comedy
Miracle on 34th St. - drama
Mr. Brooks - Suspense
Bridge to Tarabithia - Fantasy/Drama

Hope these help!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (not the Jim Carey one)
have to watch it every year
Just saw Santa Claus 3 over the weekend and it was good

A friend of mine saw Enchanted and loved it. She said it was a very good family movie and it made her laugh. I'm trying to plan when I can take my niece and nephew to see it. Even if they didn't want to see it, I would go see it on my own.

Reviews on August Rush are mediocre to bad. From what I've read, you have to 'suspend belief'. I don't think the actors were panned, but the storyline was the flaw.

My nephew wants to see Beweoulf because he loves anything with Dragons. He'll be 8 at the end of February.

I just bought Hairspray and Waitress on DVD. Waitress stars Kerri Russell (who is in August Rush) and it's supposed to be a fun chick flick.

On Dec 11th, High School Musical 2 and Harry Potter & THe Order of the Phoenix are being released on DVD.

Beowolf has some sexual content I wouldn't let an 8 year old see... Angelina, even a computerized version nude  no!

did anyone see Shrek the Halls last night on ABC???? IT WAS HYSTERICAL!

ang - let me know how Waitress is, I wanna see it! :)

...I know I'm posting nearly two weeks after everyone, but I recommend Hayao Miyazaki movies, espcially Spirited Away. And Monty Python and the Holy Grail FTW!

Saw Enchanted about 10 days ago... it was really good... not my favorite Disney Princess movie (because it's live Action, I want 2d straight through!) but it was surprisingly entertaining and fun... and brought me back to my living room when I was little watching and daydreaming of being a princess...

it's typical Disney Sweet, but with a bit of a twist at the end.
