I think I will be more nervous for Nam than any other of my favorites, even Denis Ten. :hopelessness:

Oh, I was so devastated for him (and Han) - what a horrible thing to happen! I hope he can put this behind him - this is a tough period for him, and he has a lot of adjusting to do. I hope he doesn't let this downcast him too much.

I had the feeling Nam would not do well at this Worlds but the experience would serve him well for when he's done growing. Didn't expect such extremely unfortunate performance and result from him though. But I'm not devastated as I believe my original opinions are still valid. In the bigger picture, this experience may be very valuable for him.

I believe in Nam's spicy power to come back with a vengeance.

has anybody heard how Nam is dealing with what happened in Boston. Also , I was surprised to read ( don't know where !) that perhaps he hasn't been working as hard as he should this season !??? I find that hard to believe knowing how awesome his work ethic has always been in the past , but maybe he is growing up mentally as well as physically ( growth spurt ) and that has affected his passion to succeed . Just wondering !?

1. It may or may not be true.

2. Hard work is overrated. Working smart is more important. Rest is equally important as physical activities in imprinting skills and techniques. Ditto mental rehearsing.

3. It just may be wise and safer for him to not overtrain during growth spurts.

I heard there's a rumor that Nam left Cricket Club. Wonder if it's true......

After Nam's skate, he was in the same subway / T car as we were on the way back to the hotel. He looked devastated. Wish I had had the nerve to give him a big hug. He looked like he needed it...Still remember his wonderful performance at Skate America 2014. Keep your head up Nam! Things will get better!

i heard he has left Brian as well. There was not much talk in the kiss and cry between them at worlds

Is Nam going to compete at the TCC, isn't it? I guess we'll find out whether this is true or not there. Also Brian was these days in Thailand, and I think if Nam is going to compete, he wouldn't leave...

Well, I hope it's not true, it would be sad for Cricket Brothers. Also I hope a little worse season isn't the reason for eventual leaving either. Skaters do have ups and downs. Anyway, may TCC be lucky for him :)

although I am not one to normally advocate jumping coaches/training centers just because of a bad outing or even a bad season , but in Nams case so much was wrong this year - wrong music ( way too heavy ), wrong choreography -( too difficult with no places to relax )but the most depressing thing was no discerning improvement in skating skills or spins . I think his growth spurt explains the difficulty he has had in jumps of late but not the other lacking areas that wouldn't be affected by the growth spurt. Does anybody have any thoughts about where he might move if indeed he is leaving Brian and the CC?

That's also what I wonder... where would he go? Aside from TCC being a great training center, many of his friends are there too... of course he needs to improve, but to the point of leaving because of one bad season? I mean, students changing coaches do happen, of course, but in Nam's case, I wonder if it would be a good idea.
But I hope this is all just a false rumor, speculations based on what happened at Worlds and his silence on the SNS... I hope we'll know soon enough.
