Nathan Chen

So many emotions… after bombing on the world’s biggest stage 4 years ago, he fought came back to WIN it! Those smiles during and after the program were the highlight- the pressure must have left his shoulders and he enjoyed his Olympic moment. It’s been a while since we’ve since such a big smiles. The world has turned upside down and while the pandemic rages on, tonight was a good night to forget it all and revel in this special moment. Thank you Nathan for all the memories. And thanks everyone here for sharing all your joy and support!

Thank you Nathan for your skating and Congratulations! We are so glad you finally slayed those dragons and won Olympic Gold! Watching you as a kid on You Tube videos with Raf at past competitions and now at the pinnacle! So proud of you! And you're having fun while you're doing it too! Yayyyyyy! So happy for you!

Wasn't Nathan's perfect skate, but it was his most joyous - and honestly, I'll take that over a perfect skate any day. I never thought I could prouder of him than I already was, but I was proven wrong tonight. Congrats Nathan, it's been a joy and a pleasure to be your fan for all these years!

Nathan has such a Beijing accent in his Chinese when answering the Chinese reporters, and yet his comprehension is so awful at the same time, it's kind of adorable.

I was some what disappointed that Nathan didn't get to have one of his transcendent free skates like he has had at the past two worlds and the previous GPF, but I think that's somewhat greedy of me, as he DID skate wonderfully.

Let's see if he continues to compete. While I would be greatly entertained if he did do Dancing with the Stars, I don't think he has reality show personality... But it would definitely teach him to have more realistic Waltz arms, that Galliamov was giving him a hard time about!

Since he also trains near LA, he would still be able to prepare for worlds and do it at the same time... Maybe I'm just being greedy again.

Does this mean Nathan has a grand slam? He’s now won a WC, 4CC, GPF and now the Olympics 😁
I think Hanyu fans would tell you that he never won Junior Worlds, so it doesn't qualify.

Speaking of Junior Worlds, it makes me sad to think that he got injured that year, so he never got to win his Junior World Title. The competition was also in my home city, and it would have been a chance for me to see him live.... I have never gotten a chance to see him skate in person....

NBC's upload of the program

Nathan spoke to Andrea Joyce afterwards.

Some congratulations from the skating world:

And from the family

Stars on Ice is from April to May. He’d have to do it while on tour.

Honestly, I‘m not ready to say good bye. my personal wish is that he would do an Aljona and Bruno and head to worlds to take home one more title. But OGM often struggle with worlds right after the games, so it’s up to him.

Watching Nate skate with such a free smile on his face was the best reward of all 🥺 Following him from Pyeongchang to here has been an absolute honour, and while I pray with crossed fingers that he goes to Worlds and thinks about giving figure skating a second run post-school, if this DOES turn out to be his final season, then none of us could have possibly hoped for a better mic drop. No one else can truly do it like him. I love you, Nathan!! 🥰🥰🥰

Do you have any links to these interviews? I’d love to hear what his Chinese sounds like.
