Nathan is using this opportunity to say THANK YOU to Raf. He is the sweetest.
Yes Nathan is grateful to Raf (indeed the sweetest boi), however, that interview Raf did with the Russian media still rubs me in the wrong place. If Nathan knew that interview and still so grateful to Raf, Nathan is indeed a considerate and sweet boi.
I will wait and see how Nathan's figure skating will develop in the next couple of years if (like he said) still working with Raf. If everything goes towards the correct direction, it will be all good for me otherwise...
Nathan's World medal today won't change the fact that his OG is in some sense a failure caused by his mismanagement during OG event and OG season and his coach is part of it. How Raf and Nathan handled the OG failure at least to the media/public says different things about them to me. From the exclusive interview to Russian media, Raf seems just want to shirk the responsibility and put all the blame onto Nathan and his family, that kinda attitude as a mid-aged man just felt sneaky to me. Yet, Nathan a teenager on all social media platform took the full responsibility and the blame and only showed gratitude to Raf as in this worlds speaks volumes for his character, he is actually a mature, considerate, sweet and nice young man not the arrogant brat that people tend to believe after read that Russian interview with Raf.
Also, Nathan's figure skating weakness will not magically disappear after this worlds win. I will provide some feedback later regarding this.

CBC coverage of men's FS is really great, there are some rare backstages scenes and different cam angle of medal ceremony that I haven't see from live stream. Nathan is super cute in all of them.
CBC commentary of Nathan's FS is on point. much much better than the olympic channel, and provided more insights than eurosports. I really hope some Canadian Nathan fan can upload it onto youtube someday.
They praised Nathan's strength and weakness, I won't go into details about Nathan's strength here, in short, they think besides quads, Nathan is a well-rounded skater. They named one weakness of Nathan that is Nathan needs more speed.

EDIT: i feel like CBC is conservatively hinting that Nathan will be the next greatest skater in men's discipline.

actually, lots fans think his short curls (like it is now) is better looking than his long curls.
I personally liked his long curls from CoR, but I can work with this. His hair from nationals was a no go.

That’s an interesting take on it. I think slightly fuller hair compliments his face. And a stray curl adds a bit of charm and character.

It’s very hard to follow these discussions when I literally still see Nathan as an 11 year old. I’ve been a fan of his for far to long. These last two years with the Fan girling has left me baffled. I see that he’s grown up and matured, but he’s still like my nephew or something. But least you guys are telling me how he is perceived by younger women. Though the rumors of undies on ice was very disturbing.
I think Raf spoke his mind, and I love that in a person. Student, family, and coach have many disagreements during the training years, but in this case, and in the Olympics, the family made “ program” decisions , Nathan reedem himself with a great long program, and RAF looked like a coach who choked...
