Nathan Chen

Uhm... but Nathan and other students will be at worlds/4cc, etc. This is kinda not fair if Raf leaves them and only coaches Nathan in those important 10 days before the comp

Except for Worlds, and maybe 4cc if Nathan chooses to compete there, they will probably have different competitions. Their nationals will be on different dates, and they will likely be assigned to different GPs.

Managing different schedules happens all the time for the top coaches, which is why there’s a team. IMO Nathan deserves priority because of seniority, I think he’s been with Raf the longest out of all the elites training with him.

Do you understand that if Raf flies to YALE area 10 days before a competition means his new students (Marin, that Korean girl, 2 Chinese boys probably) are LEFT ALONE before a competition, too??

That's... weird. They aren't paying money for THAT.

Soon there will be no more "Rafael's small family". Business starts from now on.

So yes, I doubt Rafael will fly to Nathan a week before a comp as was stated in the interview.

Well, yes I do understand that. It was Raf who mentioned it and all I said is I find it unlikely he would mention it if there was no possibility of it ever occurring. I would not suggest it on my own since I find it kind of unlikely (and since I know literally knowing about FS training) but what do I know? He obviously seems to think it's not the craziest thing he heard today. :scratch2:

And to speak of business, Nathan winning and defending his titles is one of the best thing Raf can do for his business and the coaching team is not just him.

So I was looking over the pics from the meet and greet in Arkansas and I swear there are a max of 10 fans in all the photos. Did he only meet 10 fans in 5 hours??????

It really looks like it was intentionally kept low profile, as even the local figure skating club didn't hear about it until the day of. Figure skating may be a very niche sport, but the chance to meet an Olympian is still a fairly big event in that part of the country. If they gave advance notice there would have been a danger they would draw crowds too large for the stores to handle.

Daycare center wahaha 👍🏼

Walmart has partnered with Kellogg’s on numerous campaigns and lots of families shop there so it makes sense, I highly doubt it’s his new sponsor, we’ll see if his IG begs differ.

um as much as I love Nathan
the danger of him drawing a crowd too large for a giant Walmart store in Arkansas to handle
On a weekday
Seems unlikely lol

Umm yeah it’s a fact 😂 love ya Nathan! Even Timberlake couldn’t:)

The survey is a bit complicated for me to answer :slink:

And I don't think the walmart thing was supposed to be huge though. And the fans who did get to see him were happy so yeah, it's not that bad.

I'm dumb and had my translation set to Korean and not Japanese, so I didn't understand a thing they were asking. :slink: Yeah, I'm answering now.

How can I pick a favorite program though....??????

It's difficult since I can't decide what to pick.

I'm stuck on which 3 genres for next season now after skipping the favorite senior program question lol

jazz
Classic
Latin
Waltz
Opera song
movie soundtrack
Ballet
hip hop
Other

:scratch2: No opera. Or movie soundtrack. I guess.

classic, ballet and...? :ohwell:

I’ve thought about the Marin/Eunsoo situation and figured it out. I know Marin will have two GP and Eunsoo will probably get one. Two of KF politic right. Coaches prefer having their skaters all in one competition so more than likely Marin will get SA because she’s in the US and already has her Visa, so the expenses would be lower. Or SC for similar reasons. Eunsoo should get the same consideration by SA and SC. Marin’s second should be in NHK or CoC. Same for Eunsoo.

I’ll clarify now. If Raf has Leave to train with Nathan at Yale, the easiest solution is to bring Marin and Eunsoo with him. Theoretically, one will be competing at the same competion with Nathan and the other skating the very next week. So this way he gets to train with them all at once. Then they both will have completitions in the middle of the GP series, leaving Nathan to self train until IdF. Then after NHK Raf can train with Nathan for IdF. Afterwards, if Marin/Eunsoo does make the final they can train with Nathan again.

Grand Prix Placements make things so complicated. At least with all the nationals, it’s easier to plan. But it looks like with 4CC and Worlds it’s train with Nathan again.

It may seem like a bad deal for Eunsoo and Marin, but mastering competition is getting use to traveling and skating in unfamiliar areas. A pre-training trip in the middle of winter should beef them up for the their comp. besides, it feels like 90% of girls between the ages of 14-28 have crushes on Nathan. If they do, that’s another bonus for them.

Sounds complicated but its fair for things to revolve around a world champion
