Nathan Chen

I fell in love with Nathan sooo  ofc Yuzuru was magnificent. It's just that at the Gala I was sitting in the first row above K&C so I saw Yuzuru very very close (his Swan costume oml! So close and sparkling) and tbh all my eyes were on him. Even when the others performed I only looked at Yuzu and took many photos/videos of him off the ice :D he was doing some stuff so it was interesting to record him.

But Nathan... well, he just stood there, warming up a little, so I didn't take many photos of him, lol.

So I think that's why I didn't want to take photos of Yuzu at the hotel so much. All eyes were on Nathan then. Plus, now I'm thinking of buying a camera cause my phone photos are only acceptable for ME

luckiest fan ever:love:

obsessive is actually a common trait among those who have ... better stop now before I get in trouble :)

All eyes on Nathan😍

Happy for you that you got to meet Nathan😊

luckiest fan ever:love:
Indeed!
Well it's not actually about luck, i was like "what, nobody bought these tickets? but it's so close to 'behind the scene', why? Then I'll buy them :D"
Then I took a photo with Lambiel, talked to and took photos of my other fav skater, also met some elite Rus skaters multiple times this year... lol let me boast a little

All my eyes. Two of them  thank you! Wish to meet him in France but going there would be hard ;(

Depending on if he ever uses the Yale rink or anybody from the area also practices at his rink, they do have a skating club so I imagine there’s student that use rinks outside of just the Yale rink.
But what happens at a private rink has nothing to do with Yale.

I don’t think it’s all that crazy or obsessive, I think he just wants to keep it as a surprise until he’s ready to debut it.
He asked his fan clubs to not upload the practice clips from Sun Valley, and I'm pretty sure he asked the person who uploaded them to take them down. He also did no program run throughs of his FS at US Classic until the actually competition.

He's nuts.

@oatmella if you go to watch competitions, buy the tickets above K&C. you will be able to watch skaters very closely, and give them gift and make sure they will receive your gift.

wouldn't every competition with Yuzuru will sold out very quickly?

I think the skating club is just for recreational skaters ? I would assume anyone could join - hey even I learned up to backwards crossovers!

And yeah ... private rinks can't be regulated by any Yale rules. Unless he trains only in a very private rink - it is unlikely nothing would be leaked.

thanks yyyskate for the the tip :)

Yes, even though it’s a private rink, if they’re a Yale student and are aware of the privacy culture, they might be less likely to leak stuff. That doesn’t mean they won’t, but considering they’re used to high profile people in that area, it might help. I’m more talking about the culture there than like Yale specifically hounding people to keep things private lol.

Well he wanted it a surprise [emoji23] /shrugs

Yeah, it kind of goes back to my qualm about his entire approach to the Olympic season, taking things super, super seriously as if it were the end of the world if he didn't WIN. Being in that mental state he couldn't have helped putting so much unnecessary pressure on himself, and we all knew the rest of the story... But ohhhh well, what's past is past. I have a feeling he's going to approach things a bit differently this coming season. He seems to have come out of this season a lot more calm and mature.

wouldn't every competition with Yuzuru will sold out very quickly?

Not unless they’re in Japan. Most events don’t sell out consistently except Worlds/certain Nationals, with or without him. Like Cup of Russia or 4CC last year had Yuzu and neither was even close to selling out.

I think most of the students and others will respect Nathan's privacy. But there could always be a few outliers.

You know Yale is known for their, um naked parties ...

The truth is all the good seats (first rows) were sold out, truly. As for the Gala, many asian fans prefer actual competitions to Gala numbers, that's why not all the K&Ctickets were sold out at the Gala (but they WERE at the competitions days).

Plus asian people have lots of their shows where Yuzuru performs in summer. So they can save money in a foreign country (Gala ticket, the hotel) and just go back home and see Yuzu in summer

I watched Yuzuru's gala Requiem of Heaven and Earth at 2016 worlds, first row!!! it was amazing! watch him so close!

Many colleges have similar tales of debauchery but I suspect that individual experiences will vary greatly depending on the crowd you hang around. I know I heard about things that went on at my college but I guess I hung with a pretty boring crowd so I never really encountered very much of it.

The Olympics FS tix wasn’t sold out either, the Worlds actually had way more tix sold than OG.

I truly wish I can spend all day here chatting about Nathan like some of you, lucky... 😥 sigh back to the reality.

Yea, it’s pretty typical that the good seats/front rows sell out pretty quickly. Just that full venue sell outs are not all that common in the last decade or so unless they’re Worlds/Nationals. Even Olympics, they weren’t sold out. The crowd was kinda disappointing in Korea tbh.

90s-early 00s, it was hard to get any tickets. Everything would sell out so fast, good times. The atmosphere was electric in those days.
