Well, it's an alternative to doing two 3As. But actually, he could also do 3Lz-3Lo for almost the same BV, although I don't know how well Nathan does that combo.

Yes, very important to consider what Nathan does well since GOEs now have greater contribution to score. It is now very important to get high GOEs across the board, and I do think Nathan is working on that.

Nathan’s 3A has looked more stable lately at least :p - judging from practice clips from the summer and at The Ice

Wonder if Nathan will be going for 4Lo ...

Also considering his competitors are doing it - Shoma, Yuzuru, now Boyang

Will get to see complete version of Land of All soon!

Wondering if he is going to do 4Lo this time. Hopefully we can see if he has made any improvement with his 3A in a few days, and people won't blame him for Dima forgetting about his 3A in his FP at Lombardia ;)

And I agree with lurkz2 in that he needs to working on improving his GOE, there are too much uncertainties with that new combo.

Thank you sheetz for the translating such a long interview. I wish he would have such in depth interview with US media. I have the feeling that he is quite at ease with the interview, and that is why he just keeps going and going with his plans, life goals etc.

"My fingertips are useless", Nathan, your fans would STRONGLY disagree with you about this. You can play beautiful guitar, and your hand movements deserve +5 GOEas in this gif

And this gif about "hands mimic mechanical cranking in the music" in LoA. I didn’t pay attention to his hand movements until I saw this tweet:

His self deprecation is indeed so cute. We should add the Japanese interview of Back From the Edge to the list

Thank you sheetz and Hollymolly about the JO links.

from Jeremy's IGS, he is leaving for Japan tomorrow. Wondering when Nathan is going to leave, and if Raf is going to be there with him and Mariah. Mariah seems to be still in Switzerland as of this morning.

I guess that Nathan maybe leaving for japan today because official practice start at 5th. ( and he need to adapt to the time difference.)🤔

Nathan’s last competition was over 6 months ago!

But he has skated in quite a lot of shows since then. At least from what we’ve seen (shows, practice videos) - he has looked good. Though we haven’t seen anything super recently - since he started school.

Feeling more excited than nervous :)

Not very nervous this time compared to last year. Last year was the Olympic season with all its associated craziness, and this time around Nathan himself has seemed quite relaxed since winning Worlds. Moreover, none of the other top guys has been especially impressive so far, unlike last year when Shoma had already put up a crazy high score at Lombardia.

I am curious to how how he fares with the new rule changes, however. In particular I want to see how he handles the shortened program length. Something tells me that the increased physical demands may actually give Nathan a slight advantage over the other top men.
