Nathan Chen

RE: the negative people posting on Nathan's IG.

Report the negative comments/accounts to IG, they are very proactive with responding to them and taking care of the offenders.

Nathan is so modest and humble - who would seriously think he would refer to himself as GOAT.

Just another example of his true character (comment from instagram post):

Here's more evidence, for anyone still reading this long post: I attended this talk on April 3, and about 5 or 10 minutes before it started, Nathan came in, instantly recognizable by his hair. :) He was looking for a seat in the back of the auditorium. He wasn't even expecting to sit with the VIP's up front. One of the organizers had to go tap him on the shoulder and tell him to go sit up front in the reserved seats. He was probably not intending to intrude on Michelle's spotlight, but the organizers wanted him up front so she could give him a hug when she came in.
Nathan, thank you for your kindness to all the people who were there to celebrate Michelle and also wanted a word with you.

Now I am heartbroken too. :(

The thing is, he usually never answers to comments from random people that he doesn't know, so that one particular comment must have really upset him.
(and yeah, I already reported it. how vicious to remind him of his olys placement like that??)

Ahh, you made me feel so sad too.

Thanks oatmella for sharing that post about his true character.

And thanks Ic3Rabbit for the advice. There was nasty comment in his WC post too. Definitely going to report those vicious comments from now on.

One reminder, let us vote for Nathan, Madi and Zach for the TeamUSA award.

It’s sad to know that he reads some of these comments - but hopefully he will be okay. His favorite basketball players get all of this and worse - guess it’s just an inevitable part of sports, especially at such a high level.

Nathan really does have a special quality about him that despite his naturally modest nature, makes him really stand out. Even from when he was a little boy in that Theater on Ice show, to lead roles in The Nutcracker, to even something like being seated in the prime spot in the audience with the most camera focus at DWTS - there’s something about him that makes people want to put him in the spotlight. Even though his natural instinct would probably be to stand in the back :)

Nathan’s positive mentality and resilience is really incredible.

bonita - I do remember that sentence. He has matured and grown so much since last year:cry:

Totally, your eyes can't help but focus on him wherever he is present: regardless he's in the pictures or videos. He just stands out, he's got the special appeal I can't describe.

I think the longer the career the more rabid fan bases can become. While I've been watching Nathan since his "baby Nathan" days his senior career really just started. His fans can get just as bad as some other fandoms.

Everyone, let's make a pledge to always be civil, gracious, and kind no matter what happens. And most importantly, remind new fans to do the same.

It makes me happy. Thanks for sharing.
Anyone said about his Olympic experience at that way, it makes me so sad and annoyed.(because I watched his all of Olympic experience in person. Anyone can’t say like that. It was so rude.)

Anyway, Nathan is 2 time World champion. That’s never changed. And also, you know, our boi is not look back. He always looks forward.:agree2:

I love when everyone stops panicking and encourages Nathan  (don't forget to keep voting in the Team Awards), what happens today will be remembered in 10 or 20 years or even much more (even more epic than the Battle of the Brians :drama: )

German version of final group 2019 Worlds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6z5FCbvHxY (you don't need to know German to understand the emotion in the commentator's voice, if you wish you can see the comment during the presentation of Mic Brezina is so cool :cool2: ) you know, today it is, maybe tomorrow it will be deleted :dev3:

PS: Much love for Nathan :luv17:

Wish I could repost/retweet this 100000000000 times. I honestly don’t think the current skating fandom is all that “educated” in the arts. :confused2:

Awww... thank you. I've so much time now having availed of my maternity leave in anticipation for my first child, Edmund Nathaniel (whom I insist we give 'Nathan' as a nickname but my husband said compromise and use 'Ethan' instead ). I hope y'all don't mind my being here.

Can't take full credit on this assessment though. Someone on youtube said something more eloquent and I kind of paraphrased their idea. :)
