It sounds like he should probably be resting in bed rather than in the cheering section - but surely he wants to be a supportive teammate.

Didn’t he skip some of the gala practice at Worlds? Jackie tweeted that he didn’t do a run through of Next To Me, and there was that clip of Alina and Yuzu doing SBS 3F to his music.

I recall seeing that Nathan started following Yagudin on instagram, so seems they did connect.

Not sure exactly how sick he is - but if he doesn’t take it easy, it could get worse

People now watching him in person said he looks more bad today. It always has some gap between broadcast and reality.

Yeah, and he looked pretty bad later on and right now in the awards ceremony. His complexion is off. You can tell he doesn't feel good at all.

This is the most ill/off I've ever seen Nathan look (awarding ceremony, on the podium). He looks worse than he did at Japan open when he had the worst free skate of his life and just didn't seem to have any strength left in his legs. I'm truly concerned now. I hope the entire Team USA gives him some TLC now that they've secured the bacon. And as much as I'd like to see Next to Me again, I'd give most anything for him to skip it.

Agreed, he looked really out of it at the ceremony and he was also noticeably subdued in the cheering section (can't wait for certain people to accuse him of not genuinely cheering on his teammates and other things of the like...:sarcasm.

Poor kid, couldn't even muster up a smile during the ceremony. I know this is just a cold and nothing serious (that is, unless he continues taxing his body like this), but it's still heartbreaking seeing him this sick and I'm sad for him, that he doesn't get to really enjoy his time in Japan, away from school with his teammates, and probably doesn't even get to enjoy some yummy food (he clearly has a throatache, judging by the way he laboriously swallowed during the ceremony, also, who has an appetite when they have a cold).

ETA: And yes please, skip the gala!

I'm glad he's resting.

And I think Yagudin sent him a congrats msg but he took a long time to reply because he was so busy. I read a tweet about it somewhere, but can't find it right now. And TAT really loves Nathan.

Yagudin really is a fan of Nathan. He said that he left him a DM after worlds congratulating him and at the end of the message wrote that in case Nathan don’t know who he is - he is the one who won Olympic gold in Salt Lake City in 2002. When Nathan read the message later he replied “Thank you. And of course I know who you are because you’re one of the reasons I started skating”

Already a few times this season he has had cold/flu develop into something more serious. Hope it doesn’t happen again

I think he looks a bit thinner this competition as well.

Also hope he skips the gala ... and it was best that he skipped the mens jumpfest at gala practice

SOI seems pretty nicely planned for him. He's off for school for quite a few dates. Lots of the April shows are during the reading period (tho he'll need to study) and the rest in Cali are after the semester ends.
