Nathan Chen

OMG, Nathan pumping up the crowd with his fingers. Has he done that before? Never noticed it.

It looks to me he also did it the first day. See this 4K fan video from first day. You can see the back of his hands and fingers.

Also, the landing of jumps are much better yesterday than first day.

As he is getting used to the ice and jet lag, the performances should be getting better each day. Plus as you said before, enthusiastic audiences would bring more passion and energy from him. You mentioned that he usually does very well in US and Japan, now it seems that Korea could be added to the list. Good job, Korean figure skating fans:thumbsup:

The scream during Nemesis on the second day is even more enthusiastic than that of the first day:luv17:

Second day Nemesis is incredible. The 4K video really lets you see the way he uses every joint to express each subtlety in the music.

I suspect that Wilson and Bezic tried to create a more youthful feeling program this year, perhaps due to Nathan and Shoma headlining. I was prepared for an opening like last year's, which I honestly thought was kind of dull but I was really impressed with Movement. On the other hand they totally missed the boat with Thunder, which felt kind of pointless. Instead of what is basically a jump contest set to music they should have tried to create a dance contest type of program.

Totally agree! Love this performance of Nemesis - one of his best. He was really on today.

Yeah I agree Movement is such an upgrade from last year’s. Pretty stunning way to set the tone for the show.

I loved Movement so much I checked out the music video. IMHO Nathan best captures the controlled abandon in the video.

I agree with the earlier post, I think a full length Nathan program to Movement would be great!
