then Nathan might indeed need to put seven quads in his LP given his low PCS. Anyway, whatever works for him.
Anyone has photos of Nathan and the team USA in the Worlds closing banquet?

MCM's Vlog of the banquet. Nathan has an oddly serious expression on his face.

In the current field, whoever doesn't skate clean and his rival skates clean is at risk of being off podium, not just him. The field is getting deeper that there is almost no room for anyone to make any error. Even Patrick and Javier were off podium and they didn't skate too poorly. Even Yuzuru almost lost and he only made one mistake (not even a major mistake) in the entire competition.
Well, Yuzuru said he's planning to add 4Lz to his program next year so that's 5 quads + 2 3As for him. Nathan would want at least 6 quads + 1 3A to be competitive. It'll also be easier to increase his PCS if he can improve his strength and stamina so he'll have more energy for transitions.
When did he say this? I thought it was only speculation at this point. We've seen 0 clean 4Lz's from Yuzu, ever.
It may not have looked major, but having no combo in the SP is a major mistake points-wise.
His PCS will probably be increasing again next year, kind of lik Shoma's. He will be working more with Marina for this effect.
Thanks a lot. Somehow I feel Nathan's overall look is much more mature than he was in 2016 US Championships.
Not sure if he can catch up Shoma in skating skills. Other items should be fine as long as he makes efforts.
Even if he didn't lose any points in the sp, shoma's score would be extremely close to yuzuru's score had Shoma skated completely clean. There is no room for anyone to make any error in the current field whether or not fans think a program has content or no content. If your program has content and you don't land your jumps, you lose. If your program doesn't have much content and you don't land your jumps, you also lose. Landing jumps, especially quads, is the key to winning or even medalling these days.
I think with Marina he could conceivably do it. And people oversell Shoma's skating skills, he's very good at performing but his skating skills do not compare with the vetrans yet. He is good but nowhere near uncatchable. Nathan made huge strides between 2015-2016 to 2016-2017 and had great skills as a quadless youngster. His SP this year showed off his skating skills. What they really need to do is fill out his long, with Marina actually coreographing it this season it should be much better.
I expect him to really be targeting PCS and his program composition throughout the offseason, I think he knows that's what is holding him back. He had some great, intricate programs as a junior (If you haven't seen his Chopin program - you should watch it, that's one of my favorites) so he's definitely capable of it. He's spent the year getting the quads consistent and now that they are, he needs to focus on bringing it all together. And also, keep working on that 3a!!!
Looks like Nathan received the fan-made banner that I mentioned earlier.

He says he wants to see his many fans in Japan, perhaps referring to WTT?
I had mentioned previously that I loved his Four Seasons SP from 2014 US Nationals, and another favorite is his "Best Day of My Life" EX, choreographed by Adam Rippon.

Everything flowed so smoothly for Nathan back then because his triples were just so effortless. Once he gets to that point with his quads then I think we'll see everything begin to gel in the same way. Already some of his quads in practice look ridiculously easy compared to where they were at the beginning of the season.
Here's another photo from the banquet with Brendan Kerry, Michaela Lucie Hanzlikova, and Harley Windsor. Seems like Nathan is pretty good friends with Brendan because they are together in quite a few pics.

I got it from Tavi on FSU forum and I like Nathan's hair here.
