Nathan Chen

Do they play the skaters' music during the warmups? Nathan's been in SLC for over a week already and been skating every day since at least Saturday so he might have done several run throughs already this week.

Can't believe he popped the 4T of all things! I've been watching him for years and this is one of his best LP ever, IMO. Awesome 4Lo!

happy now
particularly the OG year full of rehash of old program, chen brave enough to bring something totally fresh
the only thing i'm not sure is his costume, two puffy shirt, almost identical style? maybe it's not final

BTW these were listed as Nathan's planned elements

Quad Lutz+Triple Toeloop
Triple Flip
Quad Loop
Quad Toeloop

Step Sequence
Triple Lutz
Quad Flip
Quad Toeloop+Double Loop+Triple Flip

Triple Axel

His programs have a lot more depth this year. He's really starting to develop his own style. Love the new spin toward the end, and he has lovely hands in several parts.

Nathan's music choices are just gold this year. I really couldn't have expected any better. I thought the SP was already such an awesome choice, and it turns out the LP surprise was worth all the wait. I also just LOVE how contrasting the two programs are: the SP is jazzy and sort of angular, and the LP is pensive and poetic. And both original as heck. They really showcase his versatility and ability to skate to many types of music, which he's always had since a kid. I have faith he's going to grow into both programs even more. I can't wait to see how they develop.
