Nathan Chen

Just so you know, Vincent will seek for fan critics/advise regularly, also it is known that Sui/Han(actually most Team China skaters) actively take fan advise. but whether they do anything about it is totally depends on them. but they do view fan opinions

Very smart of them!
Sometimes, observers can provide a great perspective with an objective eye.

Well the American judge gave Vincent Zhou a higher FS score than Yuzuru and Javier, just another perspective...

Vincent did 5 quads, also had the second highest TES of the night just another perspective. I will leave people to do the Math which one is more outrageous.

My point is to point out the possible political play at next 2022 in beijing. I knew every judges including American judges playing the game to certain extend.
My opinion is that this political game maybe play more in favor of Chinese skaters if they have a contender in 2022. Not like a relatively neutral ground like in South Korea this time.

So my suggestion/reminder to Nathan reminds the same.

Okay, like I said, fan board is being monitored..

Wow, you really know your Nathan Chen trivia! In case this hasn't been posted already, here is a fancam video of Nathan's free skate:

I has been crazy about Nathan for the last couple of months... I guess maybe he is just too hot:biggrin:

I have watched many Nathan's FS fancam, however the best one from youtuber Arron(not sure about the spelling) has been blocked by Olympic Committee.. And I didnot save it...

If China could play politics then they would have been able to home inflate their skaters in Cup of China like America, Russia and Canada do. This was just one judge inflating their own skater just like some of the other judges do but of course there seems to be a bigger problem if the judge is Chinese

Korean judges have definitely not given their skaters any leniency in most of the competitions I've seen. In fact I remember the Korean judge being quite harsh to Dabin in the 4cc (or some other competition, I may be mistaken). It really depends on the amount of power a nation holds in the sport specifically.

And thanks, I'll look for that fancam! I'm so happy Nathan looks so happy now :) so heartwarming.

^^you are right, it mostly depends on the Fed's power, US is a powerful Fed, China also is not bad though, and will only increase its power towards 2022 beijing OG, I see a decline in US tbh. South Korea is really a very very weak fed unfortunately...

For all the talk about Nathan's mom and her role in Nathan's career, there was a wonderful article posted about her today: https://www.sltrib.com/sports/2018/...ives-salt-lake-olympian-nathan-chen-to-excel/

This article sounded very much like the info that I can gather about Nathan's Mom.
The most important part is that, it will largely depend on Nathan's own drive and passion for the next quad as far as OG goes, this is true.

It is kinda unsettling again. Nathan himself needs to be very determined, but he could change his mind too.

I am 1000% certain about Vincent goes for Beijing, because he is that determined, a little assured about Nathan after I watched his most recent interview, not sure now..

to have discipline on your own is a very very difficult thing to maintain, let alone a teenager Nathan BOI. He may still need some external structure, if Nathan's mom won't play the role anymore.

I think it's time to switch coaches.
Raf is of course a great coach and has successfully turned a prodigy known for performances into a quadking.
But it seems to be questionable if he can turn his Plushenko into an Olympic champion

I think it really helps to have other high level training mates to push each one other. Until now Nathan and Adam have said they've pushed each other, but Adam is probably retiring. Of the other men in Raf's group, Brezina is definitely retiring and Romain is already 25, although he did have a pretty good season this year and could decide to continue until Beijing. Of the women, Ashley will likely retire, leaving just Mariah. It'll be interesting to see if other skaters move to Raf.

I'm not so sure if Nathan really needs a coaching change so much as maybe someone added to Raf's team to help him work on the things he needs. On TSL I think Dave Lease was talking about USFS setting up some sort of training in center in Irvine. Anyone know anything about that? If they could set up something like what Orser has that would be the best.
