Nathan Chen

And he got to take a photo with Nathan - cute. lol at his caption 'quad king in dah place'
haha - so much focus on Nathan. cool to see Nathan skating to Les Miz as well.|
I think it would be interesting to see Nathan skate to Aliev's sp music too.

i missed the story, it is already been replaced:cry:

love you and the insta poster so much. :luv17: Again, Nathan has to skate to music:biggrin:

Thanks for the <3 like some of you, I was disappointed that piece expired and felt relieved to find them. Some video savvy fan should compile all of his practice clips, I can binge watch them. For Moulin Rouge, it has been a turn-off for me for the last 2 years (when I became more avid competition viewer) as warhorse but I can absolutely see how Nathan can elevate this song to a whole new world with fresh choreography, omg I’m beaming like crazy just imagining it haha ok time for meds.

Wish Nathan skate clean tomorrow! Can't wait to see him again!:hap10:
Yes a clean program today and Saturday will be wonderful and give him momentum going into next season.

Hello! First post here and I’ve been stalking this forum on and off since the Olympics. I’m amazed with the knowledge and sharing here! I’ve never heard of Nathan Chen before this but I happened to be flipping channels during the olympics and caught the free skate and watched his program. I was hooked after that! I immediately googled him and found out that he was a gold medal contender but stumbled earlier (in my mind he was probably one of the stragglers since he skated so early. Haha). Anyway I ended up binge watching a lot of his programs and tonight’s competition will be the first time I’m watching him compete as a fan. So nervous for him. Haha.
On another note I’m actually going to milan for a holiday soon but only arriving 2 days after worlds!!! 😭😭

Similar story here :o:...

@Dontknockny @Mamamiia Welcome to Nathan's fandom. Glad Nathan's skating performances gathered new fans.
Nathan seriously is an once in a generation type of skater. Many seasoned figure skating fans and experts can spot that once they observe Nathan's talent.
I sincerely hope he can develop his natural figure skating talent to the fullest and get all the accolade he deserves.:luv17:

It helps to know that Nathan can recover from even a subpar performance in the SP. But it also seems everybody is just a bit more chill here. Shoma said it feels more like a GP event than Worlds.

I know nothing about figure skating but yet his performance was so captivating! I ended up watching the entire Olympic free skate program and without any prior knowledge of the skaters I did appreciate yuzuru’s skate. I have to admit yuzu’s skate was a lot more fluid 🙈 but I just wasn’t captivated. Definitely not in the way nathan’s skate enthralled me. Anyway I thought I’ll offer the perspective of a non-figure skating fan which I guess speaks volumes about nathan’s talent!

Well, you can not count on Shoma on these things  He even said "Olympis felt like any normal competition" :laugh2:

That free program is a masterpiece indeed, I don't know if you watched this outing of Nathan's FS
It was much more fluid there (since he only did 2 quads, 1 4lutz and 1 4loop but with very high quality) it is US classic international in Salt Lake City (the FS's first outing and initial choreo)
https://youtu.be/7NcZT_aVV9c?t=444
also there is a choreo only fancam of Nathan's FS, which has been posted a few times on this thread, which is probably the most fluid version of Nathan's FS

Hi I’m also a newbie here, woo so happy for you to experience the first time watching him compete. I feel Nathan has this magnetic circuit when he steps on the ice and draws people in, he did that to my male cousins who thought the sport has gotten too soft and tamed to be considered as sport and they were so impressed with both of his programs, commenting he’s evolving the sport.

Agree on the chill vibe, maybe the beautiful Milano is working its magic or athletes are rather exhausted from the Olympics?

Just a little warning that discovering all of Nathan’s past performances can lead to many way too late nights spent watching youtube. Not that I am speaking from experience or anything lol.

Nah, it’s probably your neighbor your referring to hehe late night YouTubing gives you a good night sleep.

i kr:biggrin: just binge watched his pre-quad programs a few days ago. :luv17:

I first heard his name just a few days before Olympics, and here comes me spending hours on YouTube watching Nathan— just saw this cutest one again https://youtu.be/kgvg-xmGaE0 ! I also spent a lot of time to build my figure skating vocabulary so I can better appreciate the sport and understand discussion here. Flash back to his OG long program, I was so nervous that I had to cover my eyes several times...that's how I knew I was officially in love ...

You should also see the version of this program he did when he was a little older and more polished.
