Why not pair him with an actual ice dancer, if they really needed three couples? Maia Shibutani would at least have been comfortable with the choreography and style.

Patrick on many occasions has encouraged Nathan not for the camera, not for the show, not for the publicity. Just because of sincere brotherly love.
e.g. after Nathan's dismay OG SP, Patrick encouraged Nathan in a Canadian interview that has nothing to do with Nathan, but Patrick nonetheless encouraged Nathan.

I don't think so. Johnny has been complimentary and bringing attention to Nathan's artistry as early as 2015 (when he did Chopin). I don't think he needed to fake it by saying emphatically "He's beautiful!" during Stole the Show either.

Yes, I’ve enjoyed Johnny’s commentary on skaters overall and he definitely appreciates Nathan’s artistry at an early period, one of my fav - describing his quad landing as butter haha nice Browning is my favorite, the words he applies to skaters are poignant and insightful, also you can sense the passion he has for the sport and understands technical elements are important, as for Eurosport, the main guy (don’t know the crew well) is a Hanyu fan and he’s on and off with Nathan, called his quad a 3loop?! but I like the lady who’s more neutral and seems to have ice dancing background.

I guess Jeff might see the Nathan as a good dancer and thus cant wait to show him to the world hahaha

This is a good way to see it, I do think this gives him even more resources to develop his moves and by dancing with a partner gives him an in-depth understanding of drawing his passion into the dances.

to the fan who posted about Alexander Wang Yaaas! I can picture him as a top choice with his aesthetics and use of fabrics, great resume with sportswear and budget brand collaboration; he’s HQ in NYC

Maybe it’s program distribution, Maia already had another piece with Adam & her brother so? I would love to see that, but I also get why you shouldn’t separate ice dance partners under such short practice sessions and the audience may not be in tune with it. All in all, I’m glad to see Nathan in ice dancing and may there be more opportunities in the future

haha I actually like Karen well enough - she just seems quite a bit more immature/sheltered to me than Nathan - even though they are the same age.

of course I think Alina and Nathan look adorable, but I think he and Wakaba look the cutest together

Nathan used to hang out with Wakababy in hotel rooms and they competed together in baby days.

to be honest, I really like the figure skating pairing fan culture, like the ice prince and princess pairing, ice queen and king pairing.
