The choreography is mostly the same but I felt he matched the movements to the music better at SOI. In addition to the timing of the spread eagle he also tapped into the ice for the 3F right on beat with the music. After the spread eagle his steps were also much sharper this time, and he added the reach with his right hand at the "reach for the stars" in the song. Overall I thought it was a much stronger performance than at Legends.

Good observation. This is my favorite version. Now if he can get rid of the oversized white shirt, it will be perfect.

Thank you. Your observations were spot on. Although I don't think the shirt nearly ate his head in Japan like it did in Orlando during a spin :laugh: Much better sync with the music, the movements were sharp, I like this version of the eagle better (the way he throws his arms up is different), and best of all, no commentary while he's skating :love:


I do wish we could have seen Nemesis too, because the little teaser bits they showed were wonderful. I understand they only had one hour though. Very funny that Scott resisted pointing out that he's not *that much shorter* than Nathan--Nathan must have been wearing skates while Scott was not :)

If anyone on this fan fest is attending and would be so kind as to film the entire Nemesis number and then put it up on youtube, I would be very very grateful :love::luv17::love:
 
I read on twitter they were stopping some people from recording. Don't know how true that is but I'm sure we'll get more recordings anyway.

And I also think this Back from the Edge is better.

That would be so fabulous, oatmella, if your brother could be persuaded (forced LOL) to record Nemesis for us! I totally understand that you want to give Nathan *all* of your attention :laugh::love::luv17:

I do think the bunched-up shirt would behave better if he would at least unbutton it, but the problem is the shirt he's wearing underneath is probably riding up pretty high, because it doesn't look like the well-fitting Nike shirt he wore for 'No good' at Nationals. And he has already done that unbuttoned white shirt on top of grey/black shirt riding up look before, when he skated to 'best day of my life' years ago.

I wish he'd just lose the white shirt, and change over to the Nike shirt for 'Back from the edge.' But then I would be super sad that I never got to see Back from the Edge with a proper costume, and somebody else's brother will have to be bribed to record 'back from the edge' after costume change :laugh::biggrin:

yes, that Nemesis clip is why I wanted to see all of Nathan's skating in Orlando so badly! Or at least Nemesis too, in addition to Back from the Edge.

i'm undecided on the haircut til i see better pictures :)

you think he had his own hotness on his mind back in the day when adam was choreographing for him? :laugh: maybe! ;) i actually preferred that unbuttoned white shirt to the plaid one that rode up and made his shoulders look terribly hunched.

*really happy to hear your brother is on board with the mission* :) hopefully some of the ladies in your brother's social circle will shower him with appreciative affection for his dedication :laugh:
 
I am going next Saturday, but I want to be selfish, put everything aside and enjoy it 100%. I don't mind recording everyone else though lol
 
It's not selfish at all. Enjoy it for yourself and don't worry about recording! I'd only have someone else with me record (if SOI would even come close to me that is :hopelessness:), but I would want to see everything with my own eyes with no distractions.
 
Happy Nathan trim his sides, now just remember to water the curls with love and fluff them with your piano fingers 🤗 so the alt funk Vans vibe stays alive
Finally saw him not on his phone per Zach’s story & aside from the news - the turquoise shirt is back! haha I’m loving all his practice clothes including the used gloves with holes.
You can tell his moves in the Orlando back to the edge version is refined with better precision between music and moves, how the jumps work into the choreography, I think the song does need a shirt outside the Ts alike the rugged, uneven mood of the lyrics and must be unbuttoned to showoff the fluidity of the dance and have better visual flow of his powerful yet quietly elegant spins and steps, maybe change to his black jeans with another shirt... the buttoned shirt traps the air making him look like he has hunchback, dude!

PS maybe he can also pursuit the new summer OG sport skateboarding haha

A 4T is like a triple for him at this point.

That kid is too cute. A shame he didn't get to meet Nathan. Nemesis remains best.
