we need some official answers from Nathan's side (but I guess we will never have like always). but it appeared a little reckless that Nathan only started to talk with Raf about coaching arrangement during the couple days break during SOI tour? I guess it is when he is sharpening his skates.

Marina coached Patrick. She mostly coaches icedancing, but not only ice dancing. Apart from everything else, Nathan came back to Raf and He want to keep it up. So there will be something we don’t know abot their working.

my impression is that, there is no other choice for Nathan. Marina is a Ice dance coach. and Nathan certainly felt she somehow helped his artistry. but he is worried about his jumps, maybe because jump is not Marina's specialty also maybe, Nathan is not patient enough to give it more time or because outside pressure of the season or his very urgent OG plan.
there is no other better choice, he cannot possible go to other coaches even if he wanted (no time to make any arrangement), thus he went back to Raf.

Something may happen in the future though is that, If Nathan's next season results is not good, and no other fixed coaching situation (just hypothetically, he is still negotiating with other coaches and haven't made the deal yet). He has to go back to Raf again. then we may see something similar to "You see, I told ya so, he will come back to me, blah" from Raf.

As a Nathan's fan, I truly do not wanna see that. and like I said, Raf should be really thankful to Nathan.

I feel that Raf's work with Ashley, Adam, Brezina, and Romain is actually more impressive than his work with Nathan. Nathan was always seen as a promising talent but those four were all considered too old and washed up but all have since proven doubters wrong in recent years.

Yes I agree and hopefully in this beautiful setting and fresh air, he can be more relaxed. Maybe he will even debut a new program. I don’t have to be sad about M&G tickets being sold out anymore.

It's a different kind of challenge, where bad habits have to be corrected. From the Ice Talk interview I get the impression he wants the opportunity to work with young talent, and takes pride in having taught Nathan all of his current elements.

Not to mention Raf was able to stabilize Kwan's jump technique (particularly the flip) during her dwindling years and Asada was probably also at her technical peak during her time with Raf.
