I am not so sure if the Vera era is over - it could also be possible she was charmed by Natha and wants to continue designing costumes for him going until the next Olympics? We don’t really know

I guess she eased up on her hair requirements (if any really formally existed) by worlds. Nathan seemed to immediately cut his hair after Nationals (the Vera dictated cut) to even shorter with a shaved side

Wondering if anyone knows who designed his costumes from last season? I thought they looked great but I don’t think Nathan likes those looks as much per comments in NY Times article

Stole the Show costume? Isn’t that the same as his black shirt Nemesis he wore this season (it looks like he’s wearing different pants for SOI though)

If it's the same shirt, it would make sense in light of his frugality and how it fit better, moved with him better last season.

thank you for your insights.
I prefer to hold on to my delusion that Vera did in fact donate those costumes, because otherwise he should have shopped at Macy's.
On the other hand, if she charged him Vera prices, then perhaps frugal Nathan will find himself back at his previous outfitters, just with a strict palette of colors he will consider: white, dark grey, black, extremely black.

there is no such thing as bad publicity. she got press out of the pit stains too. it added to the anticipation of his 'real' costumes, which... at US nationals... turned out to be copies of gordeeva and grinkov's and lysacek's outfits. *eye roll*

if it is true vera is still haunting us, Mamamiia, please save us by going through with your idea of giving him a shirt--only please, a shirt that is made from multi-directional stretch fabric and in black--we know Nathan will wear gifts from fans.

At the point, Yale appears to be the destiny.

I wouldn't mind if Vera stuck around, but only if it's not costing him much (if anything). If it is, go to Macy's.

Minority 1% per this thread - I do like Vera’s costumes and appreciate them especially in professional photos shots, as I’ve noted in last discussion the reasons and last week, when I watched the ELTA commentary on his Worlds, the male commentator made a good point on the possibility why the two costumes accentuate his movements and give judges better focus on his PCs. This is preference so no right or wrong, I also like a few of his past costumes but don’t have one particular favorite since the music, his programs vary so much

He seems to have put all his eggs in the Yale basket.

I’m sure Yale is amazing and the campus is gorgeous - but I wonder if part of Nathan is just excited to attend school at all. Didn’t seem like he loved being homeschooled and with limited social interaction (had to eventually quit hockey team too).

The sweat thing is probably linked to grooming things that guys will eventually learn within their skating careers. I'll leave it at that.

Can't the other guys speed up Nathan's grooming learning curve? Please, for the sake of the few remaining fans of this sport. They know we clutch pearls at the slightest provocation. They see the way Nathan dresses. Jean Luc Baker took it upon himself to teach Nathan how to tie a tie. Is there no other big brother figure willing to step up to the plate?

I love to see some his hockey clips aside from the very brief one in the old TV interview... He should release his own DVD or who knows what format it’ll be 4-5 yrs from now, all of his skating recordings and hockey in a 10 pc collectible set, IMG do you hear me?
