Yeah, I just can't with the way Nathan dresses. It's not that the clothes he wears are awful, they just don't quite fit right and it makes it look sloppy. He's World Champion. He can afford a tailored suit!
Compare him to Vincent, who must be wearing a tailored suit because it fits him so beautifully.

Another revelation in this year’s show was Nathan Chen. Of course, I’ve seen Nathan skate all year, and twice in person. But there was definitely something different about Nathan in this show. His speed was tremendous–really impressive. Also, his confidence with his blades—the way he fearlessly attacked his choreography and footwork—was striking. His new self-choreographed routine to James Arthur’s “Back from the Edge” is quite gripping. Angular shapes, and a very intense, masculine feel. His “Nemesis” competitive SP was also excellent. At times this season, we’ve seen Nathan sometimes less than totally engaged in his choreography—and no wonder, as he had to focus on 2 or 5 or 6 quads in a program. But he was fully present, very involved, in his rendition of “Nemesis” in Portland. I walked away from the show feeling that Nathan is a worthy World champion indeed, not just on the basis of quads, but his skating as a whole.
Happy to hear that about his speed.
On FSU she mentioned he was her 76 y/o father's fav (along with Jason). Getting them fans of all ages.

discode - thanks for sharing and nice write-up on Nathan. His fans seem to span across all ages - 6 to 76+.
I will finally get to see the show next week and super excited to see Nathan skate live !! I hope I don’t end up crying or something lol
Vincent will be a guest as well - and his suit looks great in that photo. Nathan just seems too frugal to splurge on a well tailored suit - but at least his tie was an improvement. Baby steps! I noticed he could get nicer dress shoes as well when looking at his shoes compared to Alex Shib’s. But with Nathan’s good looks and curls ... the not perfectly tailored suit is fine

Thanks @ discode - what a poignant write up about the show, the way she described his confidence with his blades reminds me of Browning saying he likes how his skates treat the ice, and of course the speed oh my 
I love it when he is one of the favorites among different age fans.
In his case, it’s the man that makes the suit so Nathan can get away with a bit-oversized suit, for now, but as he bids teen bop years he NEEDS a tailored suit and a few nice ensembles, his quiet confidence will do the rest.

The scream didn’t seem that overwhelming - isn’t this audience mostly older - vs. the larger number of teen girls at the SOI shows?

I think this will be like his hair. In 2015-2016 Nathan would go through a cycle. First with a fro that would grow out because was too busy training. Then he'd chop it off. Then hed grow out the top because he liked it. Then the fro again. Then chopped it off again.
The next season is when he settled on his classic curly top tapered side look. I think it was a matter of him starting to care about his hair and then settling on a style that suited him.
Right now his still wearing athletic gear full time. Suits aren't something his prioritizing since he only wears them a few times a year. Once he realizing he wants to look better, the suits will become tailored. But he's really frugal and prioritized training and school over everything. So don't expect it to be "tailored" so much as off the rack and then altered to fit him better.
