Nathan Chen

Raf gonna be busy. Sounds like a summer camp more than a full coaching change. Well, hopefully, he and Nathan can hang out a bit and train together.

Everyone fighting to go to Raf (or BOrser) while Nathan is leaving to go train with no coach. :slink:
 
Is that temporary? Like Boyang’s situation? Either way, I’m excited. I really like Kolyada and find he has ALOT of potential, his jump consistency is the only thing holding him back and Raf is the perfect person for him. Nathan and Kolyada working together would be awesome (even for a little bit over summer). I’m excited!

I am exited too! Kolyada's red apple cheeks :o: make me smile every time! I think they will have lots of fun training together.

he is almost invisible (stand on the side, arms even blocked his face, blend into the crew) in this HBD post he chose to post on his insta (still not gonna use gram:biggrin:). Always the humble boi we love. Happy Birthday Nathan, Love the way you are.:luv17:

i guess this is his thank you note to everyone for their B-day gifts and wishes. so that he will not need to click the like on every HBD posts like last year:biggrin: indeed one year older.:biggrin:
 
oh Nathan - maybe all this Happy Birthday was too much for his introvert self. The pic he posted - his arms are covering his face ! I’m sure he appreciates all the love though in his own way 😊. As far as I know, he liked a couple of fan edits on IG. And he thanked whoever sent him the macarons

Kolyada to Raf - interesting! He will surely be a force with his SS combined with improved jumps. Everyone will be going to Lakewood/enjoying the new facilities in Irvine ... except Nathan ?!
 
about Kolyada training with Raf, i am just wondering did Raf discussed with Nathan about all these incoming high-profile students (some like Kolyada even is Nathan's rival) into his camp or not.

Anyways, I think Kolyada is cute and it could be nice that fans can have some photos or clips of Kolyada and Nathan interaction.

hmm I really have no clue ! But Nathan is hardly at Lakewood at this point and it doesn’t seem like he would have much time there in the summer. Not to mention during the school year. So not sure if Nathan’s feelings about his competitors going to Raf would really be a factor - seems that Raf would just do what he wants ?

Nathan and Kolyada training together - never thought of this before, but could certainly be cute. Kolyada at worlds - ‘Not everyone can do 6 quads’ !

seems this pretty much it, with so many high profile students at hands, it will make it even more difficult and unrealistic to fly to Yale before camps just for Nathan. IDK.
 
Nathan's college life is also priceless and in long term it will enrich his skating in a different way. As long as Nathan keeps skating I have faith in him :)
 
Maybe it’s just a big transition year ... but seems that Raf is kinda moving on in his own way too ? So many new students, a new rink. Not trying to imply anything negative here.

Maybe Nathan is playing his cards VERY close - but ... there is also the possibility that he’s not hiding something very unexpected either. He’s made it clear that college is important to him - he wants to grow as a person, not just as a skater - and he doesn’t want to spend all day in the rink (per Yale Daily News article)

Will be very interesting to see what ends up happening and of course I am hoping for all the best for Nathan.

I followed too many people on Insta, Nathan's updates always got buried, so I don't always know what posts he liked or not.

Well it’s Nathan’s first birthday with this level of attention. And speaking as an introvert - can have mixed feelings towards birthdays - though I’m sure he is very appreciative of everything. The photo he chose to post for his birthday - can hardly even see him ... is unexpectedly hilarious to me but very sweet at the same time.

Now Nathan is 19 ! ❄️❄️
 
also in Milwaukee BFTE, Nathan is holding his 4T landing edge a bit longer. haha :biggrin: maybe it is just me staring at it for a bit too long.

yes, in Meryl and Maddie's insta HBD story the introvert Nathan also seems a little awkward in doing that blow air birthday candle move. but it is also very cute.:biggrin:
it is kinda hilarious that Nathan always wanted to acting cool like in his SOI HBD photo with Karen and Bday Poster and 2 fans. He is hands are all around Karen. but sometime, he is still caught as his introvert self.:biggrin:
